Media'Caps: Mooseheads 6, Sea Dogs 1
Here is a collection of recaps from last night's 6-1 series clinching win over
the Saint John Sea Dogs...
My recap: And it's a sweep.
The Chronicle Herald's recap: THE FIRST ROUND is now out of the way for the Halifax Mooseheads.
Metro Halifax's recap: The inevitable happened Wednesday night.
TSN.ca's recap: The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will have a new President Cup champion after the Halifax Mooseheads eliminated the Saint John Sea Dogs with a 6-1 victory on Wednesday in post-season action.
SaintJohnSeaDogs.com's recap: The Saint John Sea Dogs dropped a 6-1 decision as the Halifax Mooseheads swept the first-round playoff series to end Saint John’s 2012-2013 campaign.
HalifaxMooseheads.com's recap: The Moose are moving on.
MISSING IN ACTION: Max Lindsay (healthy), Liam Alcalde (healthy), Ryan Falkenham (concussion) and Stephen MacAulay (suspension) did not play for Halifax. Oliver Cooper (lower body), Stephen Anderson (upper body) and Jason Cameron (lower body) didnt play for the home team.
FOUR: The amount of goals that Saint John scored in this first round series. They scored one goal in each game of the series. This was just an extension of what they did during the regular season, as they had the lowest goals for total in the regular season out of the 16 teams who made the playoffs.
TWENTYS: This was the last game for Saint John players Pierre Durepos, Ian Saab and Maxime Villemaire in the QMJHL.
SHOTS: Halifax recorded 45+ shots in every game in this series. The Mooseheads out shot the Sea Dogs 200-71 in four games.
FRK: Marty Frk is second in playoff scoring after recording 10 points in four games. His 6 goals are also a league lead. Just by himself, Marty out scored SJ as a team during the first round. Last night, Frk was credited with his 7th goal however they reviewed it and was determined that Stefan Fournier scored it. He also had two of his sticks break during the same powerplay
DROUIN: Jonathan Drouin added to his league leading assists total as he recorded two more last night to push his total to 8 in four games. He is tied for the team lead in points with Frk having also scored 2 goals.
MACAULAY: Stephan MacAulay was suspended for last night's game for a hit to the head penalty that he received in Game 3. So instead he helped with the commentary for News 95.7 during the game. He will be back for Game 1 of round 2.
VILLEMAIRE: Maxime Villemaire had half of Saint John's goals during this series as he scored in Game 2 and Game 4. He ended the playoffs with 2 goals, 13 penalty minutes, 9 shots and a minus-6.
ASHLEY: Darcy Ashley got the fur coat as player of the game for the final game of this series.
NOTES: Look for my breakdown of the four game first round series tomorrow... Baie-Comeau became the second team to advance to the second round after sweeping Sherbrooke... Plymouth, Barrie, Red Deer and Medicine Hat also swept their series... Tickets for Game 1 and 2 of the Herd's second round series go on sale on Wednesday at 10am...

Memorial Cup hosts out
The hosts of the 2013 Memorial Cup are out of the playoffs after being swept in
four games last night. The #2 Saskatoon Blades were playing the #7 Medicine Hat
Tigers in the first round and lost 4 games to none. The team will now have a
month and a half break before playing games once again.
This is the second straight year that the hosts have had a long rest before being able to play in the Memorial Cup. Last year, the Shawinigan Cataractes lost in the second round 4 games to 2 and after a just over a month break they went on to win the championship that they were hosting. As a Moose fan hopefully the Blades won't have that same luck.

SAINT JOHN - And it's a sweep. The Halifax Mooseheads are moving on to the second round for the straight year after beating the Saint John Sea Dogs four games to none. The Sea Dogs were a force to be reckoned with for the past 3 seasons as they won back-to-back President's Cups.
Stefan Fournier scored two goals as he looked to not give back the player of the game trophy; a fur coat. He also assisted on MacKinnon's first period goal on a powerplay. There was very little penalties in this game compared to last night's game which was coincidently won by the same score by Halifax.

SERIES
Halifax leads the best-of-seven series 3-0
SAINT JOHN, NB - Your Halifax Mooseheads will look to sweep their first round series for the second straight year tonight against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Last year in the opening round, the Mooseheads swept the Moncton Wildcats in four games.
In Game 3, penalties were a big problem for both teams. After a scuffle between the two teams at 11:07 of the third period, 11 penalties were handed out all roughing and unsportsmanlike conducts. Both teams also took a too many men on the ice penalty about 3 minutes apart in this second half of the opening frame. Despite the power play opportunities, Saint John was the only one to score a PPG while Halifax scored a short handed goal.
Both Jonathan Drouin and Stephen MacAulay were able to score 2 goals last night as nobody had more then a 2-point night. At least MacAulay was able to show the Sea Dog fans a good game in what was most likely he's last game at Harbour Station last night. He was suspended earlier today by the Q for his check from behind in yesterday's win.
Halifax was once again able to get 40+ shots towards the Saint John goalie last night as shots end 46-21.
NOT PLAYING - Stephen MacAulay (suspended) and Ryan Falkenham (concussion) will not play for the Moose.

Dogs...
My recap: The number 1 ranked team in the CHL will have a chance to move on to the second round for the second straight year tomorrow night if they win.
The Chronicle Herald's recap: A change of venue did little to alter the course of the playoff series between the Halifax Mooseheads and Saint John Sea Dogs.
Metro Halifax's recap: Sebastien Auger was merely human on this night, so the Saint John Sea Dogs got pummeled.
SaintJohnSeaDogs.com's recap: The Saint John Sea Dogs have been pushed to the edge of elimination as the Halifax Moosheads took a 6-1 decision in Game 3 of their opening round series in the 2013 President Cup playoffs.

MacAulay scored the first goal of the game against his former team last night. He scored a second goal to make it a 4-0 game early in the second period.
DROUIN: Jonathan Drouin finally scored his first goal of the playoffs yesterday in Game 3 so he now has 8 points in three games.
SAAB: Saint John player Ian Saab was back in the Sea Dog lineup after serving his one game suspension in Game 2 on Saturday for his high stick on Halifax's Drouin in the opening game.

SAINT JOHN - The number 1 ranked team in the CHL will have a chance to move on to the second round for the second straight year tomorrow night if they win. They have also pushed the reigning President's Cup champions to the brink of elimination after winning tonight in a much better offensively game 3 for Halifax. Both teams got into penalty trouble tonight as 5 players got unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Stephen MacAulay, who was playing for the first time in the playoffs not as a Sea Dog, received a game misconduct for checking from behind. He may not play tomorrow in Game 4.
MacAulay scored the first goal of the game and scored another one early in the second to pretty much put this game away as he made it 4-0 in the middle frame. Jonathan Drouin also scored his first 2 goals of the playoffs as the top line was not held off the scoresheet again tonight. Detroit Red Wings prospect Marty Frk scored is league leading 6th goal of the playoffs. Detroit seems to have picked a very good player in Frk, hopefully we'll see him play in the NHL soon.

SERIES
Halifax leads the best-of-seven series 2-0
SAINT JOHN, NB - Halifax will look to put the dagger into the Saint John Sea Dogs heart tonight as the series shifts to Harbour Station.
Though the Mooseheads lead the series 2-0, the second win was not as easy to achieve as the first one was. The Dogs, back stopped by Sebastien Auger, were able to get the first goal of the game on Saturday but eventually lost 2-1 against the home team. Brent Andrews tied the game up in the second period not even a minute in and Matt Boudreau gave the Moose the lead with less then 8 minutes left in the final frame.
The Herd will have stay out of the penalty box if they want to have a better chance of their top line getting points as both Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin had at least one penalty during the game. All three goals scored on Saturday were scored on the man advantage.
The Sea Dogs were once again outshot in Game 2, this time by triple as they ended 45-15 for Halifax.
NOT PLAYING - Again at the time of me writing this no one is listed to not be playing however, Ryan Falkenham of Halifax is most likely still out with a concussion.

Here is a collection of recaps from last night's 2-1 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs...
My recap: Defense defense defense that is one part of what teams need to win.
The Chronicle Herald's recap: The win didn't come nearly as easily for the Halifax Mooseheads on Saturday.
Metro Halifax's recap: There would be no blowout on this night.
SaintJohnSeaDogs.com's recap: The Saint John Sea Dogs put up a much tougher fight against the Halifax Mooseheads in Saturday night’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League President Cup playoff action.
MISSING IN ACTION: Ryan Falkenham (concussion), Brian Lovell (healthy), Max Lindsey (healthy) and Brennan Bailey (healthy) did not play for Halifax while Ian Saab (suspension), Steven Duda (healthy) and Brett Malone (healthy) were not in the line up for Saint John.
REVIEW: Both teams had a goal reviewed in the first period with the home team going 0 for 2. Halifax thought that they had scored the first goal of the game but after a lengthy review it was disallowed. The referee ruled it a goal but obviously the people upstairs conclusively decided it wasn't. Saint John had there goal reviewed and it was allowed.
POWER PLAY: All 3 goals were scored during the powerplay, the Mooseheads first goal was scored short handed.
DIFFERENT GAME: The Sea Dogs were better defensively last night as they went into the middle frame leading 1-0 with shots much closer at 10-7 for Halifax.
TOP LINE: The top line of the Mooseheads were held off the scoresheet last night after recording 18 points on Friday night as a line. Just another example of how better defensively the Sea Dogs were in Game 2.
CAMERON: After scoring in Game 1 of the series, Jason Cameron had 2 penalties in the second game recording 4 minutes of penalties.
MACKINNON: Nathan received two roughing penalties, both of which did not seem to actually be warranted a penalty but the refs didn't agree with the home crowd.

Auger solid to give team a chance to tie series
Halifax Mooseheads vs Saint John Sea Dogs
Series: HAL leads 2-0
STARS: 3. Andrews (HAL) | 2. Boudreau (HAL) | 1. Auger (SNB)
Attendance: 9,551
HALIFAX - Defense defense defense that is one part of what teams need to win. Saint John was way better defensively tonight then last night. The Sea Dogs recorded last shots in this game then they did in Game 1 as shots ended 45-15. Auger was again steller as he received first star honors as the away goalie. Halifax thought they had scored the first goal of the game but after a lengthy review the goal was disallowed which I knew was going to happen because it was so long. Shortly after, SJ had a goal reviewed too but it was counted. With the allowed goal which came from a scrum in front of Fucale, the Dogs led 1-0 after one period.
Most of the game was not as fascinating as Friday's game but the Herd were able to pull it out scoring a goal to tie it up shortly after the puck dropped for the middle frame. Halifax had plenty of pressure against Sebastien but he was again excellent, most likely gaining back some of his coach's confidence. The top line was held off the score sheet tonight but they had a whole bunch of chances to score but were unable to convert.
The last 20 minutes were pretty interesting as Boudreau gave the home team the lead finally and over 9500 fans stood up and cheered. The countdown was on from there as the last 90 seconds, the away team was able to control the puck for the most part trying to tie it up. They also pulled their goalie to put on a sixth player to help out. The blue and white could not convert and the home fans were sent away happy.

Halifax Metro Centre ~ Halifax, NS
SERIES
Halifax leads the best-of-seven series 1-0
HALIFAX, NS - Halifax will look to sweep the home portion of this first round matchup after they beat Saint John by a whomping 11-1 score last night.
Sebastien Auger gave his team a chance after the first period as MacKinnon scored twice to help the Mooseheads take a 2-1 lead into the middle frame. However, the home team was able to score 8 goals in the second period as Marty Frk recorded 5 goals during the game.
Two years ago, the Herd would've been the ones being lit up but junior hockey is funny like that. Your team is only good for a couple years at a time. Jakub Izacky was the active leading scorer for the Dogs during the regular season with the team leader was Jonathan Huberdeau who had 45 points in 30 games. Izacky had 38 in 68 games and is tied for the playoff team lead.
It will be interesting to see how the Sea Dogs respond to last night's blowout. Both Saint John goalies played last night but the team will probably stick with the guy who won 5 team awards; Auger. The Mooseheads top line will be looking to add to their points totals tonight after having 18 points as a unit last night.
Halifax not only out scored SJ by a lot but they also outshot their opponents big time last night. Shots ended 59-19 for the Moose.
NOT PLAYING - Both teams have not announced who will not be playing tonight at the time of me writing this.
NOTES - Ian Saab will most likely be suspended for Game 2.

Media'Caps: Sea Dogs 1, Mooseheads 11
Here is a collection of recaps from last night's 11-1 win over the Sea Dogs...
My recap: Despite being pulled eventually, Saint John goalie Sebastien Auger was a wall during the first period to help his team have a chance against the powerhouse of this year's playoffs.
The Chronicle Herald's recap: Marty Frk and the Halifax Mooseheads had their way with the Saint John Sea Dogs at the Metro Centre on Friday night.
TSN.ca's recap: The Halifax Mooseheads finished the regular season 73 points ahead of the Saint John Sea Dogs and they showed why in Game 1 of their first-round matchup.
SaintJohnSeaDogs.com's recap: The Saint John Sea Dogs could not whether the Halifax Mooseheads offense as the Mooseheads took Game 1 of the opening round with a 11-1 decision at the Metro Centre.
HalifaxMooseheads.com's recap: Marty Frk had a career night on Friday.
MISSING IN ACTION: Ryan Falkenham (concussion), Liam Alcalde (healthy), Brennan Bailey (healthy) and Brian Lovell (healthy) did not play last night for the home team while Steven Duda (healthy), Jeremy Doucet (healthy) and Connor Donaghey (healthy) did not play for the away team.
AUGER: I can see why Sebastien Auger of the Sea Dogs got 5 team awards last week. He kept his team in the game during the first period but could not hold it down the whole time. He stopped 31 shots before getting pulled at the 31:10 mark of the game.
SAAB: According to the QMJHL website, Saab got a match penalty on his hit on Jonathan Drouin which will result in a automatic one game suspension. So he will not play for SJ tonight.
FIRST GAME: As I mentioned in my series preview, this was the first game between these two teams in the playoffs.
LACKING: The Sea Dogs continue to lack in goals as they only scored one tonight. Saint John had the lowest goals for total at the end of the season amongst playoff team, only scoring 173 times in 68 games. Despite only playing in 30 games before being called up by the Florida Panthers of the NHL, Jonathan Huberdeau still leads the team in scoring with 45 points.
SPORTSCENTRE: Highlights of the game were shown 10 minutes into this morning's SC.
TROPHIES: The Mooseheads were awarded their 3 trophies that they won in a pre-game ceremony. Halifax won the Jean Rougeau Trophy for being Regular Season Champions, the Luc Robitaille Trophy for being the best offensive team, and the Robert Lebel for having the Best GAA for a team.
50/50: Last night's fifty-fifty winner won $17,589

Halifax Mooseheads vs Saint John Sea Dogs
Series: HAL leads 1-0
STARS: 3. MacKinnon (HAL) | 2. Drouin (HAL) | 1. Frk (HAL)
Attendance: 9,120
HALIFAX - Despite being pulled eventually, Saint John goalie Sebastien Auger was a wall during the first period to help his team have a chance against the powerhouse of this year's playoffs. The goalie from quebec faced 24 shots in the first period but only allowed 2 goals during that time to help his Sea Dogs escape the period down 2-1. Auger had to stop some pretty good shots from in close as the Mooseheads battled for puck control and tried to get him tired. He had a lot of help from his defense despite the big gap of shots.
In the second, however, Halifax proved why they were ranked the #1 team most of the season and received the Luc Robitaille Trophy for most offensive team during the regular season. Marty Frk scored a hat trick in the first 11 minutes of the middle frame and scored another as the home team bursted to score 8 goals in the period to put the game out of reach at the end of 40. Sebastien was chased from the net after the Herd's 7th goal (on 38 shots) and was replaced by back up Fournier who allowed 4 goals on 21 shots. Frk would go on to break the franchise record for most points in a single playoff game after he scored his fifth goal to end the game with 8 points. Saint John's only goal came off a rebound when Jason Cameron put it in an half empty net as most of the Moose were looking the other way.

SERIES
This is the first game of the best-of-seven series.
HALIFAX, NS - The run to the President's Cup for the Halifax Mooseheads begins tonight at the MC.
The Mooseheads last playoff game was last year in the semi-finals when the Rimouski Oceanic beat the Herd in overtime to take the series 4 games to 2. That ended Halifax's improbable run to the Quebec League final after the Moose came back from a three-nothing series deficit against the Quebec Remparts in the quarter-finals.
Halifax, who ended the season with a 58-6-3-1 record were ranked #1 in the Canadian Hockey League for the fifthteenth time this season. Saint John ended the season with a 23-44-1-0 record.
The Sea Dogs come into the series as big underdogs after being outscored 43 to 16 in the six regular season matchups.
NOT PLAYING - The home team will be without forward Ryan Falkenham (concussion)

UNIVERSITY CUP
On Sunday, the University Cup was handed out in Saskatoon, which may or may not be a coincidence with the city hosting the Memorial Cup. The Maritimes were well represented in the finals as both AUS teams made it with the Saint Mary's Huskies and the UNB Varsity Reds battling it out. UNB was the only team to go undefeated in the tournament. The V-Reds won by a score of 2-0 at the Credit Union Centre. Former Mooseheads players Bryce Swan, Cam Critchlow and Colby Pridham all won with the New Brunswick team.
PREVIEW
The Mooseheads play-by-play man John Moore recorded a little preview of the upcoming Saint John/Halifax series.
ROUND ONE
Playoffs are finally here as they start tonight at 7:00pm. Here are the Quebec league round one battles:
The Mooseheads and Sea Dogs don't start their series until Friday night with back-to-back weekend games. Puck drops at 7pm for both games. Good luck to all teams especially the Moose as the playoffs get ready to roll. GO MOOSE GO!
TV
Game one of the Halifax/Saint John playoff series will be televised in the Maritimes on Eastlink TV Friday night. Coverage starts at 6:30pm/ET.
RANKINGS
Your Mooseheads go into the 2013 playoffs ranked #1 in the Canadian Hockey League. They were ranked the top guns in the final BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings of the season that were released yesterday afternoon.
DEMOTED
After the NHL returned to action on January 19th after the lockout, six junior players were able to crack the rosters of their pro teams. Two of them however were returned to their junior clubs just before the end of CHL regular season on Sunday. Mikhail Grigorenko was returned to the Quebec Remparts and recorded 4 points in his first game back, while Stefan Matteau was returned to Blainville-Boisbraind and has yet to play a game. Mikhail and Stefan were returned by the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils respectively to help their junior teams in the playoffs.
MACAULAY
Forward Stephen MacAulay will play against his former team; the Saint John Sea Dogs, in the first round of the playoffs. He was unable to play in the last regular season game between the two teams on Friday as he was grieving his mother's death. Many of the Sea Dogs, including former SJ player Jonathan Huberdeau, went to the funeral Friday morning before the game that night to support their former teammate. He returned to the lineup on Sunday afternoon.
He will look to play in his fourth straight league final and third straight Memorial Cup. He will also be looking to win his third straight President's Cup after winning the last 2 with the Dogs. Stephen finished 8th in team scoring while recording 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 25 games with the Herd.
DROUIN
A twenty-nine game scoring streak was finished on the last day of the season. Because Jonathan Drouin was unable to record any points against the Screaming Eagles on Sunday he ended the season 2nd overall in league scoring. Despite only playing 49 games, he finished with 2.14 points per game, 0.52 more then league leading Ben Duffy.
WEEGAR
Rookie defenceman MacKenzie Weegar ended the season atop the QMJHL plus/minus board with a +55. He became the first team defenceman to have a +/- rating 50 or higher. How he is not nominated for a defenceman award is beyond me. Halifax holds 10 other spots in the first 15 players with boys at #2, #3, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #11, #13 and #15.
ASHLEY
I would like to again congratulate Darcy Ashley on being named Dickies Hardest Working Player of the Year for the QMJHL. He was named with the honour on March 6th and was given a special jersey on Friday night. He also receives a $1,000 scholarship and $200 in Dickies merchandise.
FUCALE
Zachary finished the season with 45 wins on the season and a 2.35 goals against average which is a new franchise record. He will look to continue his success in the playoffs all the way to Saskatoon.

Round one schedule released
PLAYOFFS
#1 Halifax Mooseheads vs #16 Saint John Sea Dogs
1st round
The Halifax Mooseheads have released their first round playoff schedule along with the Saint John Sea Dogs.
HALIFAX - The playoffs are finally here. After a very exciting and record breaking season, your Halifax Mooseheads look to continue the success of the regular season in the playoffs starting Friday against Saint John. These two Maritime rivals have never met in the playoffs, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. The Mooseheads will look to do what the Sea Dogs did the past two years when they were first in the league and won the President's Cup both years. Stephen MacAulay obviously brings luck to the teams he plays for as he will be on a team for the third straight year that has captured the Jean Rougeau Trophy as regular season champions.

REVERSAL OF FORTUNES - When Saint John won its first Memorial Cup two years ago in 2011, they were the first overall team in the QMJHL playoffs. The Sea Dogs never played the Mooseheads during the playoffs that year as Halifax came in as the 15th place team and were swept in 4 games. 2 years later and the Herd are now 1st in the playoffs while the Dogs come in as the last available playoff team. Your Mooseheads also tied the league record of 58 wins in one season which was also reached by the 2011 Saint John championship team.
HEAD-TO-HEAD ~ all-time: 58 games 24-28-1-5; this season: 8 games 7-0-1-0; playoffs: no games
LAST GAME - the Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-5 loss to the PEI Rocket on Sunday to end the season while the Mooseheads are coming off a 5-2 win against provincial rivals Cape Breton the same day to finish the season on a very high note with 8 straight wins.

Attendance record broken
The Mooseheads have beaten their own attendance record this season. The past record, which was set in the 1999-2000 season, was an average 8,453 fans a night. With 7 sellouts and another two nights of over 10,000 fans, Halifax has averaged 8,686 hockey gurus a game this season. With the Metro Centre being host to the CHL/NHL top prospects game this year, the sellout on that night January 16 was not included in the average attendance.
Last season's average attendance was 6,608. A jump from the 2010-11 season and the first season in four years to not have declined.
Here is a look at the average attendance for the other 18 seasons that the Herd have played:

Moose to have home ice advantage
The regular season is over for the Halifax Mooseheads and the rest of the Quebec league. The other two leagues are still playing as I write this, however, we know how the first round for the race to the President's Cup will be played. Your Mooseheads will have home ice advantage for as long as they are in the hunt for the trophy as a result of having the best record in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Moose were the first team in the Q to clinch a playoff spot this season, were also the first to clinch their division title in all of the CHL on February 20 and clinched regular season championship on February 24. The second half for the Herd was just as good as the first, here's the info for the second half.

Luck of the Irish
I guess the Moose were blessed with some of the ole Irish luck this afternoon as they won the last battle of NS of the season on Saint Patrick's Day. The first half, like Friday, was not as exciting as it normally is between these provincial rivals as the home team led 1-0 after one with only two penalties coming in the frame, one of which happened with 2 seconds left. The second half however was more exciting with 6 goals and plenty of hitting by both teams but mainly from the Herd. At one point the Eagles had three guys in the sin bin at one time. Boudreau and Ciampini both scored 2 goals while "retiring" player Stefan Fournier scored the other. Matt also recorded his first career four point night, adding 2 assists on the night. Many franchise and league records were broken this season, a few of them coming today as rookie Mackenzie Weegar became the first D in franchise history to be +50 or higher ending his first campaign with a plus 55. Jonathan's winning streak game to an end today unfortunately so he will not be able to capture the scoring title however I am sure he, and the rest of the team, do not care so much about that trophy.
Notes: The Mooseheads wore special green jerseys to celebrate St Patrick's day... This was MacAulay's, Abeltshauser's and Fournier's last junior regular season game... Halifax has 58 wins to end the season tying the record for most wins in a season...

It's the home finale as well as the season finale for the 2012-13 season. It's also the last battle of Nova Scotia until next season as Cape Breton was not able to make the playoffs this year. Reversal of fortunes
It was the latest preview of what is probably going to be a first round series in this years playoffs. The first half of the game wasn't as exciting as the games between these two teams normally are. It was a physical game with lots of hard hits and only 3 fights all in the second half of the game. After the buzzer, Saint John's Saab didn't want the game to end as he ended up receiving 2 roughing penalties in a scrum at the end of the game. There was also plenty of traffic in front of both nets mainly in front of Sebastien Augar. During one scrum, after saving the puck from going in the net on a in close MacKinnon shot, Augar pushed Nate with his blocker and a little scuffle insued.
Notes: This was Coach Ducharme's 100th career win as a junior coach... All the penalties were roughing, hooking, holding, slashing and tripping penalties... No one's streak ended tonight as Drouin pushed his to 29 games and MacKinnon and Ashley pushed theirs to 12 and 15 games respectively...

Congratulations toPhillipe of Middleton who got $14,108 winning tonight's 50/50 [EDIT: Congrats to Philip of Middleton who won $14,188]

Mar 15: Saint John vs. Mooseheads game preview
It's the last and final game between these two divsion rivals who are on opposite ends of the playoff standings. The Mooseheads and Sea Dogs are most likely going to be battling it out against each other in the first round in this years playoffs. The home team will look to do what the away team was able to 2 years ago when Saint John won the regular season, the President's Cup and the Memorial Cup all in 2011. The Herd have won all but one game this year against the Dogs. Stephen MacAulay played the first five games with the team from New Brunswick with his last game with the old club played at the Metro Centre on Teddy Bear toss night recording a goal and 2 assists to help the blue and white to a 3-2 overtime win. In an October home and home set, the Moose won 4-3 and then pounded the away team 11-2 at the Metro Centre. Halifax won 4-2 on December 9 at Harbor Station, 5-1 on December 21st and toppled the Sea Dogs 8-3 and 6-1 in another home and home series played in late February.
The Mooseheads still has not lost in regulation since the third game in February, a total streak of 15 games. The home team is 9-0-1-0 in their last 10 games overall, while Saint John is 2-8-0-0 in their last 10 and are 10-21-1-0 on the road this season.
