PLAYOFFS
#1 Halifax Mooseheads vs #16 Saint John Sea Dogs
1st round
The Halifax Mooseheads have released their first round playoff schedule along with the Saint John Sea Dogs.
HALIFAX - The playoffs are finally here. After a very exciting and record breaking season, your Halifax Mooseheads look to continue the success of the regular season in the playoffs starting Friday against Saint John. These two Maritime rivals have never met in the playoffs, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. The Mooseheads will look to do what the Sea Dogs did the past two years when they were first in the league and won the President's Cup both years. Stephen MacAulay obviously brings luck to the teams he plays for as he will be on a team for the third straight year that has captured the Jean Rougeau Trophy as regular season champions.

REVERSAL OF FORTUNES - When Saint John won its first Memorial Cup two years ago in 2011, they were the first overall team in the QMJHL playoffs. The Sea Dogs never played the Mooseheads during the playoffs that year as Halifax came in as the 15th place team and were swept in 4 games. 2 years later and the Herd are now 1st in the playoffs while the Dogs come in as the last available playoff team. Your Mooseheads also tied the league record of 58 wins in one season which was also reached by the 2011 Saint John championship team.
HEAD-TO-HEAD ~ all-time: 58 games 24-28-1-5; this season: 8 games 7-0-1-0; playoffs: no games
LAST GAME - the Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-5 loss to the PEI Rocket on Sunday to end the season while the Mooseheads are coming off a 5-2 win against provincial rivals Cape Breton the same day to finish the season on a very high note with 8 straight wins.
