HALIFAX - Defense defense defense that is one part of what teams need to win. Saint John was way better defensively tonight then last night. The Sea Dogs recorded last shots in this game then they did in Game 1 as shots ended 45-15.  Auger was again steller as he received first star honors as the away goalie. Halifax thought they had scored the first goal of the game but after a lengthy review the goal was disallowed which I knew was going to happen because it was so long. Shortly after, SJ had a goal reviewed too but it was counted. With the allowed goal which came from a scrum in front of Fucale, the Dogs led 1-0 after one period.

Most of the game was not as fascinating as Friday's game but the Herd were able to pull it out scoring a goal to tie it up shortly after the puck dropped for the middle frame. Halifax had plenty of pressure against Sebastien but he was again excellent, most likely gaining back some of his coach's confidence. The top line was held off the score sheet tonight but they had a whole bunch of chances to score but were unable to convert.

The last 20 minutes were pretty interesting as Boudreau gave the home team the lead finally and over 9500 fans stood up and cheered. The countdown was on from there as the last 90 seconds, the away team was able to control the puck for the most part trying to tie it up. They also pulled their goalie to put on a sixth player to help out. The blue and white could not convert and the home fans were sent away happy.
