This is the first game of the best-of-seven series.

HALIFAX, NS - The run to the President's Cup for the Halifax Mooseheads begins tonight at the MC.

The Mooseheads last playoff game was last year in the semi-finals when the Rimouski Oceanic beat the Herd in overtime to take the series 4 games to 2. That ended Halifax's improbable run to the Quebec League final after the Moose came back from a three-nothing series deficit against the Quebec Remparts in the quarter-finals.

Halifax, who ended the season with a 58-6-3-1 record were ranked #1 in the Canadian Hockey League for the fifthteenth time this season. Saint John ended the season with a 23-44-1-0 record.

The Sea Dogs come into the series as big underdogs after being outscored 43 to 16 in the six regular season matchups.
