I guess the Moose were blessed with some of the ole Irish luck this afternoon as they won the last battle of NS of the season on Saint Patrick's Day. The first half, like Friday, was not as exciting as it normally is between these provincial rivals as the home team led 1-0 after one with only two penalties coming in the frame, one of which happened with 2 seconds left. The second half however was more exciting with 6 goals and plenty of hitting by both teams but mainly from the Herd. At one point the Eagles had three guys in the sin bin at one time. Boudreau and Ciampini both scored 2 goals while "retiring" player Stefan Fournier scored the other. Matt also recorded his first career four point night, adding 2 assists on the night. Many franchise and league records were broken this season, a few of them coming today as rookie Mackenzie Weegar became the first D in franchise history to be +50 or higher ending his first campaign with a plus 55. Jonathan's winning streak game to an end today unfortunately so he will not be able to capture the scoring title however I am sure he, and the rest of the team, do not care so much about that trophy.
Notes: The Mooseheads wore special green jerseys to celebrate St Patrick's day... This was MacAulay's, Abeltshauser's and Fournier's last junior regular season game... Halifax has 58 wins to end the season tying the record for most wins in a season...
