Pink in the Rink tomorrow

Tomorrow night is your Halifax Mooseheads' Pink in the Rink event. Pink in the Rink is an annual event held by Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams in the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Each of the 18 teams wear pink colored jerseys which are most times auctioned off to lucky fans and color the ice pink.

The Mooseheads announced some details about their night earlier today. They made the splash page pink to let everyone know when it is. Fans are encouraged to wear pink themselves to the game. Raffle tickets for the game worn jerseys will be sold at 1 for $5 and 3 for $10. They will be autographed. A Trey Lewis autographed pink jersey to a fan deemed best dressed during the game. A pink jersey signed by the whole team will be auctioned online starting Monday.

More raffle tickets will be giving to customers who make donations to the cause at the downtown Boston Pizza and Stayner's Wharf Pub & Grill for a pink jersey. Fans who can't wear pink to the game can buy pink American Apparel t-shirts at Antlers for $19.99 or 17:99 depending on what size you need.

All proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region.

Since it's throwback Thursday let's take a look back at the jerseys that the Moose wore in the previous Pink in the Rink nights.

-the Herd were the first team in the QMJHL to host a pink in the rink back in 2008 against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
-the 5th edition of Pink in the Rink was the Mooseheads' first win in 5 events, the previous four were losses 7-1, 4-0, 7-2 and 5-0 2008 to 2011 respectively while the win was a 4-3 score.

League leading scorer Anthony Mantha is in town with his Val-d'Or Foreurs for the event. Mantha leads the Quebec league with 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in just 9 games. He was also named the CHL player of the week yesterday.
