GAMEDAY 17: vs Charlottetown

IT'S GAMEDAY
HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS vs. CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS
Puck drops at 7pm
Metro Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

PREVIEW - Well I was hoping to open this up as the Battle for first place in the division but Halifax was unable to get their firsth an a row on Saturday while Charlottetown did win this past weekend to spread the gap between the two teams to 3 points. This will be the first time that Halifax fans get to see the new Islanders uniforms live unless you went to the game in Charlottetown more than a month ago.

The renamed Prince Edward Island team has been the surprise this season. They were sold back in March after being defeated in the first round of the 2013 playoffs by Val-d'Or and were than renamed from the PEI Rocket to the Charlottetown Islanders. The awesome start this season has renewed hockey passion on the little island. They have had two games with over three thousand fans so far this season where last year they had none.

This is the second game between these two teams. They met in Charlottetown's home opener back on September 13 with the Islanders coming out on top. Alexandre Goulet scored two goals while Halifax's Kevin Darveau made 45 saves for his second career start in a 5-2 loss.

Charlottetown hosted the Victoriaville Tigres on Saturday and won 3 to 0 outshooting the Tigres 43-34. Matej Beran scored the game winner with less then 5 minutes left in the first while Eric Brassard made 34 saves to get the shutout.
