The Sherbrooke Phoenix and Gatineau Olypiques along with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Canadian Hockey League announced the roster for the 2013 Subway Series. The two Team QMJHL versus Team Russia games will be held on November 18 in Sherbrooke and November 20 in Gatineau. Last week the coaches for each leagues team was announced.

Just like last year 4 Halifax Mooseheads have been named as part of the team. Unlike last year, the Herd will have a member at each position on the team. Dom Ducharme was named the assistant coach, Zach Fucale is one of 2 goaltenders, second year defenseman MacKenzie Weegar will help protect his goalie while Jonathan Drouin will look to help Team QMJHL score. Congratulations to the four players of your Mooseheads who made the team.
Other names include; league leading scorer Anthony Mantha of Val-d'Or, Dillon Fournier of Rouyn who is the younger brother of former Moose Stefan, suspended Charles Hudon of Chicoutimi and stellar Saint John goaltender Sebastien Auger who has faced the most shots so far this season.

Team QMJHL has a 10-7-3 record against the Russian Selects in the ten year event which started in 2003 on November 17 in London, Ontario. November 20 was the first game between the QMJHL and Russia in which the Selects beat the QMJHL all-stars in Halifax 3 to 2. The CHL has been dominte over Russia in this tournament as the CHL teams have a total record of 44-11-4 with 256 goals for and 150 against. Russia is 15-41-3 so far winning only one year in 2010.

Titan Nation's recap: The Halifax Mooseheads managed to squeek out a 4-3 decision over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to sweep a home-and-home series.

GAMEDAY 19: vs Acadie-Bathurst

IT'S GAMEDAY
HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS vs. ACADIE-BATHURST TITAN
Puck drops at 7pm
Metro Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

PREVIEW - Who's going to come out on top this time? The road Acadie-Bathurst Titan or the home Halifax Mooseheads. After splitting the two games last weekend, your Mooseheads have won both games this week. The first was again the 4th ranked Charlottetown Islanders while the other was against these very same Titan last night in Bathurst. Yes it's a home and home series between these two rivals with the games always interesting. Former Herd defenseman Dominic Beauchemin makes his second trip to Moose Country in enemy colors. This should be a good one as it will once again be a goaltending battle. Jacob Brennan and Zach Fucale have virtually the same save percentage with Fucale on top by 0.001 percent but Brennan has seen more pucks come his way.

THE NUMBERS

Leading scorers
BAT: Raphael Lafontaine 16pts (7G & 9A), Adam Stevens 11pts (7G & 4A), Dominic Beachemin 11pts (5G & 6A)
HAL: Nikolaj Ehlers 20pts (8G & 12A), Andrew Ryan 18pts (9G & 9A), Brent Andrews 16pts (6G & 10A)

LAST GAMES
As fore mentioned, these two teams met last night in New Brunswick with the road team in that game coming out on top in a 5 to 2 contest that saw the Titan not record a shot in the third period. Timo Meier scored twice and Jonathan Drouin picked up 3 helpers as Halifax outshot Bathurst 44 to 17.

MISSING IN ACTION: Trey Lewis (hip), Ryan Falkenham (hips), Liam Alcalde (healthy), Jesse Lussier (concussion) and Sam Leblanc (healthy) were the Mooseheads scratches last night.

MEIER
Timo Meier was switched to a different line last night. He played on a line with Jonathan Drouin and Darcy Ashley. It helped obviously as he scored two goals.

DROUIN
Jonathan Drouin had his third straight three point night. This time he assisted on three goals, two of which were on Timo Meier's goals. He now has 14 points in eight games.

EHLERS
Nikolaj Ehlers continues to impress the fans and scouts in his rookie season. He still leads the team in scoring and the league in rookie scoring. He has twenty points in 18 games after recording 2 helpers in New Brunswick yesterday.

FIRST PERIOD
The first period was cut short by broken glass. Brendan Duke ripped off a slapshot which broke the glass behind the Titan goal. It was taking a while to clean up so with 4:24 left in the first, they decided to send the teams to their respective dressing rooms and finish the last four minutes after the intermission.

POINTS
Eight Moose players had at least one point during the game. There were four scorers, each one not getting a helper to with their goal(s). Odd turn of events. Check out below to make sense of it.

SHOTS
Some more odd things happened in Bathurst last night. Halifax had more shots in the first twenty minutes than the Titan did all game. This is partly because Acadie-Bathurst did not record a shot on goal in the third period. Shots ended 44 to 17 in favour of Halifax, 17 of those forty-four were considered dangerous.

OTHER SCORES
Cape Breton 4 - 5 Chicoutimi
Saint John 1 - 2 Baie-Comeau
Sherbrooke 2 - 7 Blainville
Victoriaville 3 - 5 Drummondville
Val-d'Or 2 - 4 Rouyn-Noranda

The two teams meet again tonight at the Metro Centre for Saturday night hockey. Puck drops at 7pm.

Mooseheads in the pros

Thanks to John Moore for some of these quick statistics. There are a few former Halifax Moosehead players that are in the pros this season.

Nathan MacKinnon is the biggest story. In September, Colorado Avalanche coach Patrick Roy announced that MacKinnon would be staying in the National Hockey League all year. Nate has seven points in nine games. He had a fight in his first ever NHL game and scored his first pro goal on October 12th versus Washington. With his goal he also has 6 assists.

Stephen MacAulay is playing in the East Coast Hockey League and has an assist in two games played with the Wheeling Nailers. Konrad Abeltshauser has no points in four games played with the Worcester Sharks but has 10 shots. Stefan Fournier is currently out with an ankle injury suffered from a Hamilton Bulldogs team event. He has 0 points in 1 game played. Marty Frk has 0 points with the Grand Rapids Griffins in two games played.

Four year former Moose player Pascal Amyot is currently playing for the Saint Mary's Huskies hockey team while Stephen Gillard and Anthony Terenzio plays for the Huskies rivals, the Dalhousie Tigers.

Subway Series coaches announced

The head coaches and assistants have been named for the 2013 Subway Series which will be held in the second half of November.

Team QMJHL will be headed by Gatineau Olympiques coach Benoit Groulx. DJ Smith (Oshawa Generals) and Dale Hunter (London Knights) will split the role for Team OHL and Brent Sutter of the Red Deer Rebels will coach Team WHL.

Groulx will be assisted on the bench by our very own Dominique Ducharme when the Q team takes on Russia in Gatineau and Sherbrooke on November 18 and 20th respectively. The game in Oshawa on November 21st will be normal for the Gens fans as Smith will be joined on the bench by his coaching staff, Roger Hunt and Paul McFarland. November 25th will see Team OHL take on the Russians in Sudbury for the second Ontario game with Wolves coach Paul Fixter beside Hunter. Ryan McGill of the Kootenay Ice will assist Sutter for coaching Team WHL on November 27 in Red Deer and November 28 in Lethbridge.

Dale Hunter, D.J. Smith and Dom Ducharme were all on the bench together when Canada's U-18 National Team captured the Gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka tournament this past August.

I'll have coverage of the Quebec games at the very least. When the rosters for each team are announced I will post them here.

MC POST-GAME
Mooseheads double up Charlottetown to finish home stand winning

HALIFAX - Defeated.

The Canadian Press' recap: At Halifax, Darcy Ashley scored twice for the Mooseheads who went ahead with three unanswered goals.

Metro Halifax's recap: The Halifax Mooseheads proved their worth on Wednesday night.

The Chronicle Herald's recap: The top two team's in the QMJHL's Maritime Division went at it in Halifax on Wednesday and neither team seemed interested in giving an inch.

The Gaurdian's recap: Brooklyn's Darcy Ashley scored the game-winning goalwith 4:35 remaining Wednesday as the Halifax Mooseheads doubled the Charlottetown Islanders 4-2.

halifaxmooseheads.ca's recap: The Moose are inching closer to the top of the Maritimes Division after a 4-2 win tonight over the Charlottetown Islanders.

MISSING IN ACTION: Trey Lewis (hip), Jesse Lussier (concussion), Ryan Falkenham (hips) were still out with injuries while Vincent Watt and Liam Alcalde were healthy scratches.

INTERFERENCE
There were four interference calls in last nigt's game. That is a loof crashing the net. Antoine Bibeau did get hurt in one of the scrambles but was able to continue playng.

THREE
Darcy Ashley, Jonathan Drouin and Austyn Hardie all had three points in last night's game. Ashley had the last two Halifax goals plus an assist while Drouin was the opposite, one goal and 2 assists. Hardie assisted on 3 of the four Moose goals.

SHOTS
The shots in the first and second period were the same although on the QMJHL website it says they were not. Shots in the first were 17 for Halifax and 7 for Charlottetown with it being the same story in the second. The score for those two periods were the same too, as each team scored once in each of the first 2 twenty minutes.

DROUIN
Jonathan Drouin as I mentioned above had a goal and two assists. His goal was the first home goal he has scored this season on Metro Centre ice. He know has 3 on the season.

EHLERS
With an assist on Jonathan's goal, Nikolaj Ehlers has surpassed Andrew Ryan in team scoring and now has 18 points. He is first among rookies in the league and 16th overall. He has 8 goals and 10 points in 17 games. My father was very impressed with his speed.

BIBEAU
When I talk about players on the other team it is normally their goaltender that I discuss. That trend is continuing today. Antoine Bibeau was pretty much the only indication of why the Islanders are the number 4 ranked team in the country. He played really well and at times I think we all thought, players and fans included, that his team would skate away with the victory. If he continues like this he may be called up to the big leagues real soon if the Toronto Maple Leafs ever need a goaltender.

OTHER SCORES
Cape Breton 5 - 2 Moncton
Saint John 3 - 4 Drummondville
Shawinigan 2 - 4 Val-d'Or

UP NEXT
Halifax will travel to Acadie-Bathurst to take on the Titan in the first game of a home and home. Puck drops at 7pm.

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Stellar Game.

Defeated. Outshot. Out killed. There was very little evidence of why the Charlottetown Islanders were once again named to the BMO Top 10 Rankings, this week at number 4. The only thing they showed was their stellar goaltending. Antoine Bibeau, a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect was awesome despite his teammates in front of him not being so the whole game. Halifax pelted 40 pucks on Bibeau while Charlottetown could only fester 24, seven shots in each of the first two periods.

IT'S GAMEDAY
HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS vs. CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS
Puck drops at 7pm
Metro Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

PREVIEW - Well I was hoping to open this up as the Battle for first place in the division but Halifax was unable to get their firsth an a row on Saturday while Charlottetown did win this past weekend to spread the gap between the two teams to 3 points. This will be the first time that Halifax fans get to see the new Islanders uniforms live unless you went to the game in Charlottetown more than a month ago.

The renamed Prince Edward Island team has been the surprise this season. They were sold back in March after being defeated in the first round of the 2013 playoffs by Val-d'Or and were than renamed from the PEI Rocket to the Charlottetown Islanders. The awesome start this season has renewed hockey passion on the little island. They have had two games with over three thousand fans so far this season where last year they had none.

This is the second game between these two teams. They met in Charlottetown's home opener back on September 13 with the Islanders coming out on top. Alexandre Goulet scored two goals while Halifax's Kevin Darveau made 45 saves for his second career start in a 5-2 loss.

THE NUMBERS

Leading scorers
HAL: Andrew Ryan (9G, 8A, 17 PTS), Nikolaj Ehlers (8G, 9A, 17 PTS), Brent Andrews (5G, 10A, 15 PTS)

LAST GAMES
Looking for their fourth straight win, Halifax was unable to defeat the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Saturday night. Darcy Ashley scored twice for the Moose who outshot the Huskies 38-21 and Kevin Darveau made 16 saves.

Jonathan Drouin made his home debut last night against Val-d'Or and helped the team to a 5-2 win with three assists while Nikolaj Ehlers, who is from Denmark, played very well in front of some of his family. Halifax is getting closer to the Charlottetown Islanders in points, they are only one point behind the newly renamed PEI team.

This is the first of two meetings between the Mooseheads and Huskies this season. They will meet again in two weeks time in Rouyn-Noranda.

MC POST-GAME
Success once again in Pink in the Rink

HALIFAX - For the second straight year, your Halifax Mooseheads were on the winning side of the annual Pink in the Rink event.

The Canadian Press' recap: Brent Andrews scored a hat trick to lead the Halifax Mooseheads past the Val-d'Or Foreurs 5-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Friday.

Metro Halifax's recap: The Halifax Mooseheads welcomed back Jonathan Drouin with a decisive win on Friday night.

The Chronicle Herald's recap: A little taste of home seemed to inspire Nikolaj Ehlers.

MISSING IN ACTION: Trey Lewis (hip), Jesse Lussier (concussion), Ryan Falkenham (hips), Liam Alcalde (healthy) and Brendan Duke (flu) did not play for your Moose. Maxime Gravel, Keven Larouche and Lukas Sladkovsky were not on the ice for the Foreurs.

PINK IN THE RINK
The 6th annual Pink in the Rink event was once again a success for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Atlantic Region. The pink jerseys that the Mooseheads were wearing were pretty cool this year. They were full pink with the colored Herd logo on the front.

HAT TRICK
With the net empty two players were able to get a hat trick last night but Nikolaj Ehlers decided to give up his chance and gave it to Brent Andrews to score the empty net goal and the hat trick one.

INJURIES
Halifax has been hit by the injury bug big this year already. Trey Lewis is out with tears in his hip, while Jonathan Drouin just got back from a groin injury and now Ryan Falkenham is out for the season after needing surgery on both hips.

EHLERS
European rookie Ehlers recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick last night. He scored two goals and had the chance to score a hat trick late in the third. He recorded two assists as well and fought Louick Marcotte halfway through the last frame. He was escorted off the ice for getting a game misconduct from the fight.

DROUIN
Jonathan Drouin made his home debut this season last night. He played in the 3 road games earlier this month after getting sent down by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He than hurt his groin before last Friday's game against Blainville. Drouin recorded three assists during the game.

MANTHA
League leading scorer Anthony Mantha recorded an assist in yesterday's game. He also had three penalties during the game.

GAZZOLA
Randy Gazzola returned to Halifax for the first time after being traded last year to Val-d'Or at the trade deadline.

OTHER SCORES
Chicoutimi 3 - 4 Acadie-Bathurst
Quebec 3 - 0 Moncton
Baie-Comeau 7 - 1 Sherbrooke
Gatineau 4 - 3 Drummondville
Rimouski 3 - 4 Shawinigan

UP NEXT
The home stand continues tonight when they take on the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the Metro Centre. Puck drops at 7pm.

Success in Pink.

For the second straight year, your Halifax Mooseheads were on the winning side of the annual Pink in the Rink event. Brent Andrews scored the first hat trick of the season for the team while rookie European Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick. Val-d'Or scored the first goal of the game and than Halifax scored 3 unanswered goals before the end of the first period. Ehlers scored two goals and decided to allow Andrews to receive the hat trick with an empty net goal instead of taking it himself. Jonathan Drouin made his home season debut tonight and was pretty good picking up 3 assists. He looked a little timid at times but that is understandable after a groin injury.

IT'S GAMEDAY
HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS vs. VAL-D'OR FOREURS
Puck drops at 7:00pm
Metro Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

PREVEW - Pink jerseys. League leading scorer. Val-d'Or Foreurs. Those are the stories for tonight's game at the Halifax Metro Centre. Your Halifax Mooseheads will be hosting Anthony Mantha and his Foreurs when they have their pink in the rink event this evening. Mantha is leading the Quebec league in scoring as well as points. He has 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in just 10 games. Those are insane numbers for anybody but clearly he is trying to show the Detroit Red Wings that they should have kept him in the NHL.

The Mooseheads will be wearing pink jerseys when they take on Val-d'Or. The jerseys will then be raffled off to 20 lucky fans at the end of the game. There are also going to be other jerseys available to be won. The team announced on twitter that the ice will not be painted pink this season.

This is the first game between these two teams this season. They will meet again in two weeks in Val-d'Or.

THE NUMEBRS

Pink in the Rink tomorrow

Tomorrow night is your Halifax Mooseheads' Pink in the Rink event. Pink in the Rink is an annual event held by Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams in the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Each of the 18 teams wear pink colored jerseys which are most times auctioned off to lucky fans and color the ice pink.

The Mooseheads announced some details about their night earlier today. They made the splash page pink to let everyone know when it is. Fans are encouraged to wear pink themselves to the game. Raffle tickets for the game worn jerseys will be sold at 1 for $5 and 3 for $10. They will be autographed. A Trey Lewis autographed pink jersey to a fan deemed best dressed during the game. A pink jersey signed by the whole team will be auctioned online starting Monday.

More raffle tickets will be giving to customers who make donations to the cause at the downtown Boston Pizza and Stayner's Wharf Pub & Grill for a pink jersey. Fans who can't wear pink to the game can buy pink American Apparel t-shirts at Antlers for $19.99 or 17:99 depending on what size you need.

All proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region.

Since it's throwback Thursday let's take a look back at the jerseys that the Moose wore in the previous Pink in the Rink nights.

Pink in the Rink I: October 24th, 2008 versus Chicoutimi Sagueneens

Pink in the Rink II: October 24th, 2009 versus Saint John Sea Dogs

Pink in the Rink III: October 22nd, 2010 versus Cape Breton Screaming Eagles

Pink in the Rink IV: October 21st versus Saint John Sea Dogs

Pink in the Rink V: October 19th versus Sherbrooke Phoenix

Did you know?
-the Herd were the first team in the QMJHL to host a pink in the rink back in 2008 against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
-the 5th edition of Pink in the Rink was the Mooseheads' first win in 5 events, the previous four were losses 7-1, 4-0, 7-2 and 5-0 2008 to 2011 respectively while the win was a 4-3 score.

League leading scorer Anthony Mantha is in town with his Val-d'Or Foreurs for the event. Mantha leads the Quebec league with 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in just 9 games. He was also named the CHL player of the week yesterday.

Don't forget to wear PINK!!

POSTGAME: Eagles 3, Mooseheads 7

MC POST-GAME
Halifax roll to a 7-3 win over provincial rivals

HALIFAX - Different teams, different game plans.

The Canadian Press' recap: Zach Fucale made 38 saves and the Halifax Mooseheads scored five unanswered goals in a 7-3 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Tuesday.

Cape Breton Post's recap: The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles' two-game winning streak was snapped following a 7-3 loss to the Halifax Mooseheads in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Tuesday at the Halifax Metro Centre.

Metro Halifax's recap: The Halifax Mooseheads' offense woke up on Tuesday.

The Chronicle Herald's recap: Tuesday's game between the Halifax Mooseheads and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles unfolded in two chapters.

capebretoneagle.com's recap: Cape Breton's two-game winning streak came to an end as the Halifax Mooseheads got by the Screaming Eagles 7-3 in front of 6,137 fans on hand at the Halifax Metro Centre on Tuesday.

MISSING IN ACTION: Jonathan Drouin (groin) and Trey Lewis (hip) are still out with injuries while Jesse Lussier, Liam Alcalde and Max Lindsay were healthy scratches. Scratched for Cape Breton were Jason Bell, Michael Lyle and Maxim Lazarav.

3 POINTS
Andrew Ryan, Nikolaj Ehlers and Brent Andrews all recorded three points in last night's win. Ryan had 2 goals plus and assist while Ehlers and Andrews scored once and assisted on 2.

SHORTHANDED
Your Halifax Mooseheads were able to score two shorthanded goals during yesterday's game. According to Herd History, it was the 29th time in franchse history for the team to score 2 shorthanded goals in one game.

ODD GOAL
A very odd play happened last night. Alex Bureau came way out of his net to play the puck, which you don't see much in the Q league, but instead of passing it to one of his teammates he passed it to Brent Andrews. Andrews then was able to shot it towards the net and the puck went in to give the Mooseheads the lead 2-1 and they never looked back. It was also one of the shorthanded goals scored.

FUCALE
Zach Fucale had to be solid last night as the Eagles peppered him with a total of 43 shots during the game. He made some pretty good saves too. He also didn't wear his new colorful helmet instead opted to wear a plain white one, no word why.

UP NEXT
Halifax will be back at it on Friday for their annual Pink in the Rink game. Puck drops at 7pm against the Val-d'Or Foreurs.

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Rollin' Rollin'.

Different teams, different game plans. Cape Breton was able to win a close game against the number one ranked team but couldn't stop the Halifax Mooseheads on Tuesday night. Jonathan Drouin wasn't even in this game and the home team scored 7 times from six different players. Not only did the Screaming Eagles give up a powerplay goal, something they were able to prohibit against Blainville, but they also were scored on twice with the extra men on the ice. It was the first time in more than a year that the Mooseheads scored two shorthanded goals in one game.

HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS vs. CAPE BRETON SCREAMING EAGLES
Puck drops at 7:00pm
Metro Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

PREVIEW - They did the impossible Sunday afternoon. I am of course talking about the other Nova Scotia team, the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles defeating the number 1 ranked team in the country, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. After playing the Halifax Mooseheads, Blainville travelled to Sydney to take on the Eagles but left with an overtime loss, their first loss in 11 games this season.

The question now is; who will come out on top of tonight's game? Cape Breton will come into the Metro Centre with lots of confidence, thinking they did what eight other teams could not; defeating the Armada. Halifax will be playing with a chip on their shoulder trying to tie the season series up after losing to the Screaming Eagles almost a month ago. It's possible that the Herd could have reinforcements once again. Jonathan Drouin could make his home season debut tonight if all goes well.

This is the second game of the Battle of Nova Scotia series this season. Cape Breton's Clark Bishop scored two goals and Cameron Darcy chipped in with a goal and two assists to lead the home team to a 5-2 win against the Herd back in September.

THE NUMBERS

Cape Breton is coming off a big overtime win against the #1 CHL ranked team, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Sunday. Jeremy Beaudry scored 2 goals while Maxime Legace stopped 14 of 18 shots.

MC POST-GAME
Streak stays in tack with shorthanded goal by Blainville

HALIFAX - Looks like another team will be the first one to give the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada their first loss.

The Canadian Press' recap: Frederic Bergeron scored once and set up two more as Blainville-Boisbriand edged the Mooseheads.

Metro Halifax's recap: Just when it appeared the Halifax Mooseheads were poised for a comeback win, things fell apart.

The Q News' recap: Luca Ciampini netted his first goal of the season in a losing cause Friday Night.

Chronicle Herald's recap: The No. 1 ranked team in the CHL came to Halifax on Friday and the Mooseheads nearly knocked them off.

halifaxmooseheads.ca's recap: That hurts.

MISSING IN ACTION: Trey Lewis (labral tear) and Jonathan Drouin (groin) were not in the lineup while healthy scratches were Liam Alcalde, Jesse Lussier and Vincent Watt. The Armada didn't dress Emil Aronsson, Marc-Olivier Roy, Tyler Brown and David Bedard.

TWEET OF THE NIGHT

PICTURES
Here are my pictures from last night.

COMEBACK
The comeback fell just short. Midway through the third the Herd were down 3-1 but they got two goals in a little over 2 minutes to tie things up.

CAPTAINCY
With captain Trey Lewis out with a hip injury, Darcy Ashley was the captain last night. Brent Andrew will also be captain while Lewis is out.

CIAMPINI
Luca Ciampini scored his first goal of the season last night.

FALKENHAM
Local boy Ryan Falkenham scored the tying goal on a vey nice play. He got 2nd star honors.

WEEGAR
MacKenzie Weegar assisted on two of the three goals yesterday evening. Mac seemed to be on the ice every time I looked so I'm not surprised that he got points last night. He was the third star of the game.

OTHER SCORES
Cap Breton 3 -2 Charlottetown
Bathurst 0 - 3 Qubec
Sherbrooke 1 - 4 Rouyn-Noranda
Victoriaville 3 - 0 Shawinigan
Drummondville 4 - 6 Val-d'Or

UP NEXT
Halifax will take on the Saint John Sea Dogs tonight at home. Puck drops at 7pm.

Tough Loss.

Looks like another team will be the first one to give the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada their first loss. The Moncton Wildcats were unable to Thursday night losing 4-0 while the Halifax Mooseheads were also unable to but they gave the Armada hard fought game. Both teams changed chances in the first period but neither could get past the goaltenders. After going down 2-0 half way though the second and the crowd being deflated, the Mooseheads got a goal by Luca Ciampini to liven it up. Halifax than came back to tie it after bring down 3 to 1 with goals by Andrew Ryan and a very nice one by Ryan Falkenham. There were plenty of missed powerplay opportunities as well. A shorthanded goal was the dagger that allowed the Armada to remain perfect this year.
