Meier in Prospects game

The Canadian Hockey League along with the the Niagara IceDogs and BMO Financial Group announced the 40 players that will be participating in the upcoming CHL/NHL Prospects Game. For the third straight year, your Halifax Mooseheads have a player named to one of the rosters. Swiss player Timo Meier was named to team Orr for the game that will be held in Niagara, Ontario on January 22, 2015.

The game will be yet another opportunity for Meier to show National Hockey League scouts what he has and get his draft stock even higher. At the beginning of the season, Timo had a 'B' rating meaning he was projected to go in the second round of the 2015 NHL draft I. June. About a month ago, that rating was bumped to 'A' (first round projection). On Craig Button's list he jumped from being projected going in picks 80-89 to pick 35. Meier will also be hoping to show of his skills on the world stage with his home country Switzerland during the 2015 World Juniors.

Congratulations to Timo and the rest of the players named to Team Cherry and Team Orr. For the full release check here
