After two weeks of speculation and rumours, the Halifax Mooseheads fianlly confirmed the trade of franchise goaltender Zach Fucale and defenceman Matt Murphy to the Quebec Remparts. The trade was rumoured a little while ago but could not be made official until today when the QMJHL trade period opened.

The Mooseheads also traded a 5th round pick in the 2015 QMJHL draft to Quebec. In return Halifax will receive goaltender Eric Brassard, who stood tall against the Herd last Thursday despite picking up a shootout loss for the Remparts. Halifax also picked up a 1st & 3rd round picks in 2016 and 1st & 2nd round selections in 2018.

This is a big trade for the Moose and fans will miss both players, especially Fucale but the team is getting the pieces together to rebuild in the near future for another run at the Memorial Cup.
