METRO CENTRE
The Halifax Metro Centre, home of the Halifax Mooseheads, is going to look different come September 12th. Above the doors on the Carmichael Street entrance, there is decal welcoming fans to the arena.
A photo of Nathan MacKinnon kissing the Memproal Cup has been put up at the corner of Duke and Brunswick.
The ice inside also has a new paint job. Instead of the regular H with the Moose head, the logo in the centre is the special 20th season logo.
IWK
After making a stop at the Camp Hill Veterans Buidling the Memorial Cup, and a few players, showed up at the IWK Childrens Hosptial yesterday. The Halifax Mooseheads have visited the IWK plenty times over the years and done volunteer work, this summer though they've had a visitor.
ROY
This isn't Mooseheads related but the top pick at this year's QMJHL draft has been traded by the Cape Breton Sreaming Eagles to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, reportedly. So now instead of seeing why Nicholas Roy was picked 1st overall 9 times this season, the Halifax Mooseheads and their fans will only get to see him play once. The city of Halifax will have to wait until January 24th to see Roy play.
TONIGHT
There are 5 games on the QMJHL schedule tonight and one of them includes a Ontario team. The Ottawa 67's will play the first of a home and home series with the Gatineau Olypiques when they hit the ice tonight in Ontario at the CIH Academy Rockland with the puck dropping 8:30pm.
KIJIJI
So according to an ad on Kijiji, the home opener is sold out. The Halifax Mooseheads have yet to say if all 10,500 tickets have been sold in the 24 hours since they went on sale. However I will be surprised if the opening game is not a sell out. See the ad here. People are also selling their replica rings on Kijiji. Here is one of the more expensive ads.
