Drouin scratched Saturday, NHL camp updates

DROUIN
Jonathan Drouin was a healthy scratch on Saturday in a rookie game against the 4th overall pick Seth Jones and the Nashville Predators. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the game 7-4. Rookie tournament coach Rob Zettler had this to say on scratching Drouin;
There's nothing behind it. We had talked about it prior to the tournament. We kind of had some people in mind that we didn't want to play three games in three days because they haven't skated much in the past few weeks, so it was by design.

WEEGAR
Mac Weegar had two assists in his team's rookie game on Saturday evening. The tournament hosts Florida Panthers defeated the rookie Boston Bruins last night 5-4 in a game that ended in a shootout. Weegar assisted on the 4-4 tying goal.

ABELTSHAUSER
Well I guess Konrad Abeltshauser is not just a defensive defenseman, he is a offensive defenseman. At least that is what it seems like in the first two games for his team in the Young Stars Classic in British Columbia. He has scored in both games. His goal on Friday tied the game up at one for the San Jose Sharks when they took on the Winnipeg Jets. He also had 4 shots and a -2 rating in a 5-3 loss.

MACAULAY
According to Paul Hollingsworth, Stephen MacAulay got a goal in the Montreal Canadiens rookie team scrimmage yesterday.
