Semi Finals Set in Q

The 2014 QMJHL semi final matchups are set.

The closest series all playoffs finished last night in a game 7 overtime match up between the #4 Rimouski Oceanic and the #5 Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. The Ocenaic were able to score 4 quick goal in the last 5 minutes of the first period to go up 4-0 after 20 minutes. The Armada made it a one goal game going into the final period after 5 more goals were scored in the first 12 minutes of the second. The teams than went back and forth to end regulation with a 7-7 tied score. Blainville was able to complete the comeback when Nikita Jevpalovs scored the overtime winner at the 12:59 mark.

With the incredible win, the fifth seeded team will face the first seeded Baie-Comeau Drakkar in one semi final series. The two teams will play game one on Friday night in Baie-Comeau. In the other semi final series it will be your Halifax Mooseheads hosting the Val-d'Or Foreurs. This series also begins on Friday and should go the distance with the teams being ranked #2 and #3 in the overall standings at the end of the regular season.

Congrats to the final four teams making it this far. Comment below on how you think both series will go.
