World Junior Quarterfinal Matchups

Happy New Year Moose Country. With the new year comes the medal round at the 2015 World Junior Championships in Toronto & Montreal, Canada. The last day brought some interesting finishes. Canada defeated the United States to get top spot in Group A, which ended the way most people thought it would. In Group B however, Sweden went undefeated and the game between the Czech Republic and Russia decided who would be in the quarters and in the relegation round.

Here is how the quarterfinal match-ups set up on Friday January 2:
QF1     2A United States vs. Russia 3B 2:00pm/AT     TSN
QF2     1B Sweden vs. Finland 4A 4:00pm/AT     TSN2
QF3     2B Czech Republic vs. Slovakia 3A 6:00pm/AT     TSN
QF4     1A Canada vs. Denmark 4B 9:00pm/AT     TSN

Germany and Switzerland will battle to stay in the top division in a best of 3 round between the two teams that were last in their respective group. Here's the relegation round schedule:
January 2 - 12:00pm/AT - Switzerland vs. Germany - Air Canada Centre
January 3 - 8:00pm/AT - Germany vs. Switzerland - Air Canada Centre
January 5 - 12:00pm/AT - Switzerland vs. Germany - Air Canada Centre

MOOSEHEADS TO BATTLE?
Nikolaj Ehlers might be shooting against his former teammate Zach Fucale on Friday in Denmark's first ever quarter final match-up. Though it has not been announced yet who will start for Team Canada in tomorrow's game, it is thought to be Fucale after he has allowed only 1 goal in his 2 preliminary starts this year.
