WJC: Fucale, Canada Will End Medal Drought

Venue: Air Canada Centre

RECAP: Team Canada is rolling with former Mooseheads player Zach Fucale and so far it has worked in their favour. The Canadians defeated a tough Slovak team on Sunday evening to get a berth in the Gold Medal game at the 2015 World Junior Championships. They will now go up against Team Russia on Monday night. Fucale had to only make 15 saves but some were pretty good saves that he had to make in tight and from the point. Team Slovakia was able to keep themselves in the game with the goaltender of Denis Godla for the first 38 minutes. Nic Petan's second goal started an onslaught of late second period goals that gave the red and white a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes. The Slovaks will now face Team Sweden in the bronze medal game, which is a great accoplishment for the country's hockey program.
