RECAP: Ehlers, Meier Help In Return

HALIFAX - Once again, it didn't take long for Danish forward Nikolaj Ehlers to make an impact in his return from the U20 world ice hockey championships. After a nice pregame ceremony where Ehlers, Swiss forward Timo Meier and Gatineau Olympiques coach Benoit Groulx were honored for playing at the tournament it looked like it might take a while for Moose Country to be able to throw their teddies on the ice. However, 13 minutes into the first period second year American forward Danny Moynihan scored to give the Mooseheads a 1-0 lead and the stuffed animals flew. Nikolaj scored a minute and a half into the second to push it to 3-0 with his second of the night. He would score the hat trick with 15:05 left in the game which would seal the victory for Halifax. Meier chipped in with 4 assists in his return while the Herd also welcomed back Ryan Falkenham, who got an assist in his first game since November 15.
