Venue: Air Canada Centre
RECAP: Well the World Juniors are done for another year. Team Canada is back on top, after winning a close 5-4 game against Team Russia on Monday night. Former Halifax Mooseheads goaltender Zahc Fucale stopped 26 shots, including all 11 in the final frame, to help the Canadians end it's medal drought. Fucale was apart of the team that lost to Russia in last year's bronze medal game 2-1, Hockey Canada's second straight bronze medal defeat. The victory not only ended the medal-less drought but also the Gold Medal drought. The red and white had not won gold since 2009 before last night. The Quebec Remparts goaltender had to make some pretty good saves in the third period to hold of the Russians push to tie the game. Canada got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the first 2:32 of the game and built up a 5-1 lead with under 6 minutes to go in the second period. Russia squeezed 3 goals in those final minutes of the middle frame to make it a 5-4 game. Fucale stood tall and led his team to victory.
