Herd Word

LEWIS
Trey Lewis was the odd man out when the Halifax Moosehads made their decision about their overagers on Tuesday. With Lewis injured and the only way for him to be 100% is to get surgery, which takes about 9 months to recover, the Moose decided to keep Brendan Duke as their third 20 year old. Trey returned home after the news and will now play for the Miramichi Timberwolves. He will be playing through the pain in the Maritime Junior A League as he is set to make his debut tonight against the Weeks Crushers in Pictou County.

Dan Robertson of Eastlink wrote a nice story about Trey's time in Halifax.

CAPTAINS
Jonathan Drouin has been named the Team QMJHL captain for the Subway Super Series. Charles Hudon, Dillion Fournier and Felix Girard were named the alternates this afternoon. The team will start the 6 game series on Monday and play again on Wednesday.

BMO RANKINGS
Your Moosehads returned to the top 10 this week in the BMO CHL rankings after being left out in week 8. With 4 straight wins the Moose were ranked #10 nationally.

SUBWAY SERIES
Talking about the Subway Series, I will have recaps and possibly even previews of the two QMJHL versus Russia games when it gets underway next week in Gatineau. All games will be broadcasted on Sportnet television starting at 8pm Atlantic time for the two Quebec ones.
