MacKinnon has new number

Throw out the #22 jerseys, because Nathan MacKinnon has a new number now. By the sounds of things, the number one pick in  this year's NHL draft has already made the team that drafted him in June.

It was announced today on the Colorado Avalanche's twitter page that Nate will wear number 29 this upcoming season for the Avs. There is still training camp to get through but according to NHL.com's 30-in-30 preview, the Denver team has him penciled in as the #3 center.

If this does mean he has made the team then congrats Nathan. It will be strange not seeing your 22 skating around the Metro Centre ice. There is still a possibility that the Cole Harbour native could done the red & green this season however.
