It's Friday night. It's a game against Cape Breton, our provincial rivals. It will be an exciting Friday night hockey matchup between the Mooseheads and the Screaming Eagles at the Scotiabank Centre this evening. Provincial rival games are always exciting but this weekend's series will be an important one for both teams. There is a point that seperates the two teams in the standings so a sweeo by either team will put some distance between the victor and last place in the Maritimes division. Halifax has been playing more confident lately while Cape Breton are coming into this game without a win since these two teams last met in October. Scoring for the Mooseheads is coming more appearent now and they'll need to be firing on all cylinders as they battle a team that is 6th in goals for despite the losing streak. How much hop will the Herd have after the thrilling game that was played on Wednesday night? We'll have to see but hopefully it is a lot.

Halifax and Cape Breton met almost a month ago on October 19 in Sydney. The Screaming Eagles skated away with the win. Philippe Gadoury scored the lone goal for the Mooseheads in the 4-1 loss while Zach Fucale made 33 saves on 36 shots in the defeat.

Overall Records
Eagles: 7-11-2-2 = 18 points (5th in Maritimes division, 15th overall)
Mooseheads: 8-11-2-1 = 19 points (4th in Maritimes division, 14th overall)

Leading Scorers
HFX: Timo Meier 26pts (10G & 16A), Nikolaj Ehlers 21pts (9G & 12A), Philippe Gadoury 17pts (8G & 9A)
