Nikolaj Ehlers has returned just in time for the annual Pink in the Rink game. He was a healthy scratch in the Winnipeg Jet's last preseason game last Saturday and was released by the team officially on Sunday. The return of Ehlers should provide some offense and speed to your Halifax Mooseheads who have been inconsistent in both areas so far this season. Don't loose hope Halifax fans, as Nik pointed out; “Last year, when we had to start the season, we were missing a lot of players and we had the same amount of points as we do now, in the first eight games."
The Herd were able to snap their shutout streak last weekend but still could not snap their losing streak, which has reached three games. Halifax will look to finally break it and recent history is on their side. Pink in the Rink night has been a success on the ice as well as off it in the last two events, with your Moose winning 4-3 and 5-3 in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
This is the second game of the season between these two teams. Halifax's first win of the new season was against the Islanders which left the Charlottetown faithful going home with disappointment. Maxime Fortier scored his first career goal in overtime to seal the win for the Herd while Kevin Resop made 17 saves in his second career start.
