CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS vs. HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS
Puck drops at 7:00pm
EastLink Centre (3,717) ~ Charlottetown, PEI
PREVIEW - It's the last road game of the season for your Halifax Mooseheads and the home team will be looking to keep their playoff hopes alive in front of a sellout crowd. The Charlottetown Islanders are going in the opposite directions they want to be going in at this point of the season, losing their last 2 games and going 3-5-1-1 in their alst 10. They started the season off quite well winning 10 of their first 13 games but lost the next 6 games which basically ruined their chances of clinching a playoff spot early. Despite the ups and downs they have had this season, the new management team has amde the town excited again about hockey as they have seen an increase in their attendance of an average of 500 per game. They will likely have good attendances in their last three games which starts tonight with their first sellout of the season.
The Mooseheads are looking like the team that won the President's Cup last season. They have won 10 straight games now and will look to close out the regular season still riding wins. With the next three games being against thier own division, they are basically gaurenteed to continue the streak. Saturday's season finale will be the toughest test however.
Charlottetown's first loss on this mini losing streak was against this very team back on Thursday in which the Mooseheads won 7-4. Seven Halifax players had multi point nights highlighted by Andrew Ryan and Darcy Ashley each getting 2 goals. Zach Fucale had to only face 25 shots in 60 minutes for the win.
