#2 Halifax Mooseheads vs #15 Charlottetown Islanders

1st round

The Halifax Mooseheads released their first round schedule for the 2014 playoffs which they are playing against Charlottetown Islanders. 

HALIFAX - The playoffs are almost here. I can't believe it has been a little less than 7 months since the 2013-14 season began and now the regular season has wrapped up this past weekend. For the Mooseheads the playoffs will begin on Friday however the first game of the playoffs is on Thursday. For the third straight year, your Moose are playing against a Maritime team in the first round of the playoffs. This year their match up is against the first year new named Charlottetown Islanders. 

DIFFERENT SEASONS - The two Maritime rivals had different season this year. The Islanders were sold in the off season and the new management group made some changes including name, logo, colors and player dynamic. Charlottetown had one of their best starts to a season winning ten of their first thirteen contests to begin the first campaign as the Islanders. Halifax were streaky to start their 20th season having three 3 game win streaks in their first 20 games. Charlottetown only won 3 of their last 10 games to end the season while the Mooseheads won 13 straight. 

HEAD-TO-HEAD ~ all-time: 80 games 43-28-3-4-2; this season 9 games 8-1-0-0; playoffs: no games

LAST GAME - the Islanders are coming off a big 6-2 win versus the Saint John Sea Dogs to finish the season on Saturday evening while the Mooseheads once again finished at home against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, winning a crazy game 8-6.
