Saint Francis University coach Brad Peddle announced the first commitment for the upcoming season for the X-Men hockey team and it is former Halifax Mooseheads defenceman Patty Kyte.

The Pembroke, ON native is currently playing for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens after being traded in December. He played three seasons for the Mooseheads. Kyte has a number of family members who are alumni of StFX, including his father Murray who is the Vice President Advancement.

Peddle commented; "He is an excellent defenceman that plays a very well rounded two-way game. He is a tremendous skater who moves the puck very well, but is also very dependable in his own end."

Good luck to Patty with the X-Men next season.
