Happy first day of Spring! Though it might not look like it, today is the official first day of Spring which means that playoffs are right around the corner. With the storm that went through Nova Scotia and PEI, tonight's game has turned into the 3rd last game of the regular season not the second. It is still the last road match-up your Halifax Mooseheads will be playing. The Moose will have a tough road to a victory against the Moncton Wildcats, who are first in the Maritimes division and about 25 points ahead of our Herd. But stranger things have happened.

This is the 8th game between these two teams this season. Halifax is 2-3-2-0 against the Wildcats this year while Moncton 5-2-0-0 against the Mooseheads. The teams last met on February 17 with Moncton getting the victory from a Ivan Barbashev powerplay goal in overtime to take the 3-2 win. Timo Meier had both goals for Halifax on the road.

Halifax coming off a big 7-4 victory in Saint John against the Sea Dogs on Saturday. Danny Moynihan, with a hat trick, and Nikolaj Ehlers, with 2 goals and 2 assists, led the Mooseheads to their first win against their divisional foes this season.

Moncton is coming of a 8-4 victory at home on Saturday evening against the Titan. Conor Garland had 2 goals and 2 assists to lead the Wildcats while goalie Alex Dubeau made 27 saves to the win versus Acadie-Bathurst.
