HALIFAX - The Mooseheads kept showing why they received the Luc Robitaille trophy (most offensive team) after the regular season as they scored four goals in the opening period on Friday night. In Game 1 of the opening round, Halifax had a 2-1 lead over Saint John after 20 minutes then blew it open in the second frame. This time, the Herd opened it up in the first frame after scoring short handed less then two and a half minutes in. Penalties were the dagger in the Olympiques back as the home team scored 5 times with the man advantage and even scored being down a player on the ice.

The Mooseheads had their full team back after Ryan Falkenham returned tonight from suffering a concussion. The rest seemed to help MacKinnon too as he said pre game that he is all healed up now. He added to his assist total tonight, helping 3 players score their goals. Zach Fucale was great in goal once again stopping some pretty nice shots in close to save his shutout bid. It's the first shutout of the playoffs for the number one net minder. He only let one goal in each of the four games against the Sea Dogs in Round 1.
