In the second part of the Battle of Nova Scotia home and home, the Halifax Mooseheads took the sweep this weekend with two 4-1 wins. Tonight's game was Halifax's annual Battle of NS event where both teams wore special Nova Scotia themed jerseys. It was a very physical game but ended with not very many penalties. There were no penalties in the second period. Alcalde was thrown out only 10 minutes into the game after a fight with one of the Cape Breton players. Before the fight, Liam hit another CB player which led to the fight. In the third period the Moose thought they had scored a third goal but it had rung off the post. However seconds later, Falkenham did score to put Halifax up 3-1. Brent Andrews and Dominic Beauchemin were the other scores for the home team while Bronson Beaton scored for the Screaming Eagles.
Notes: 20 of the special blue Moosehead jerseys were then raffled off and proceeds went to the IWK... The Mooseheads have now won 17 in a row at home this season and are the second team in the Canadian Hockey League to reach 31 wins for the season, London was first after winning tonight as well while also winning their 23rd in a row... 4,600 fans travelled down from Cape Breton to watch the game...
