The red, green and gold finished the first half of the season on a high note beating Saint John 5-1 on Friday night (December 21). Both teams were without their star players as MacKinnon, Drouin and Sea Dogs forward Jonathan Huberdeau are overseas playing together for Team Canada. This was also the last game for the Moose before the Christmas break, they will be back at home on December 29 and will also play the night before in Cape Breton.
Matthew Boudreau once again scored 2 goals and now has a nine game point streak. The other scorers for the Mooseheads were Fournier, Falkenham and Ryan. Stephen Anderson was the only scorer for the team from New Brunswick. Halifax outshot Saint John 43 to 23 and scored 4 goals in the third period. There were only four penalties during the game with three being for the Sea Dogs.
