The annual Battle of NS event for the Mooseheads is being played tonight between the Screaming Eagles and the Herd. Tonight's game is the second in as many nights between these two teams, as they played each other yesterday in the other annual Battle of NS event held in Cape Breton. Halifax has won the previous four match ups, not including last night's game, and all have been pretty close games. Halifax opened their season in Sydney on September 21 winning an overtime game 4-3 and won again at Centre 200 on December 4th by a score of 5-3. The two games played in Halifax were some of the most exciting games of the season, with the Screaming Eagles forcing a shootout on September 29th and a 4-2 Mooseheads win on November 23rd.
The Mooseheads have outscored their opponents 45-29 while going 8-1-1-0 in their last 10 games. Cape Breton has gone 2-6-1-1 in their last 10 and are 4-11-0-3 on the road this season. Konrad Abeltshauser returns to the line up after missing 11 games, while Cape Breton will be without 3 of their players.
