Scotiabank Centre (10,595) ~ Halifax, NS

Your Halifax Mooseheads are back on home ice after one match on the road and will host the Saint John Sea Dogs in the second half a home and home series. The Mooseheads are looking for their 6th straight win and have been pretty solid against the 17th place Sea Dogs this season. Saint John took a point in the season opener losing 5-4 in overtime but have basically been dominated by Halifax in the 4 games since. The two clubs met on Monday in Saint John with the Mooseheads taking a 4-0 victory in what was a high shooting game; both teams got over 35 shots in the match. Halifax have been on fire lately, getting hot at the right time and picking up goals from all four lines but the results are a little skewed as well as they have played a number of matches against clubs in the lower half of the standings so it’s not surprising that the Herd have been dominating those teams. Saint John meanwhile is going the other direction but is in a rebuild year finally. I say finally because it has seemed like ever since the team from the Port City has joined the QMJHL, they have been a contender. The Sea Dogs are on a five game losing streak and have only won one game in their last 10. There’s just 11 more games in the regular season, including 6 at home so if you haven’t yet get out and see if the Memorial Cup hosts can finish off strong.

This is the sixth meeting between these two teams this season. Halifax is 5-0-0-0 against the Sea Dogs while Saint John has a 0-4-1-0 record versus the Mooseheads. The last game was on Monday in Saint John where the away team took a 4-0 win on the back of a couple goals each by Brock McLeod and Arnaud Durandeau.
