Penalties Almost Hurt Herd for Second Night

Photo - Metro Halifax
Fifteen. That's a number that coach Dom Ducharme is going to want his team not to repeat in a set of games again. Your Halifax Mooseheads have been given 15 penalties over the last two games, 8 on Friday night and 7 tonight. About a third of the penalties for Halifax probably should not have been called but the Mooseheads are going to need to be more disciplined and not let bad calls get in their head if they hope to win games. Luckily, two Baie-Comeau powerplay goals did not prohibit the Herd from getting the victory this evening. Third year forward Danny Moynihan seems to have taken over Max Fortier's firing ways, scoring another two goals tonight including the overtime winner. Fortier did have his first multi-point game since October 22, scoring a goal and picking up two assists against the Drakkar that helped the home team get a 5-4 overtime win. The game started off pretty intense and physical with 3 goals being scored in 39 seconds which would actually be the only scoring in the first period.
