Herd come close but fall to Sea Dogs in OT

Photo - Mooseheads website
The Herd came up short with a big push but lost in OT to the Saint John Sea Dogs. With a solid goaltending performance from Eric Brassard the Herd come up short in OT.  With the spark of the fight that saw Kelly Bent and Nicholas Blachman both getting five minutes for fighting and a game misconduct for a staged fight, it sparked the Mooseheads after that they scored two goals to tie it up and to bring it in to overtime. Andrew Shewfelt and Taylor Ford both scored in the second period. Both teams showed tonight that they don't really like each other with a lot of chippy play and a fight, as well as some rough stuff after the whistles. With getting an assist on Taylor Ford's goal Danny Moynihan continues his point streak for the Moose. Halifax now gets set to host the Canada Russia Super Series on Thursday night. It will be the final game of the series here in Halifax. Halifax head coach Dom Ducharme will be the head coach for team QMJHL and Max Fortier will also be one of the forwards. Puck drop is at 8pm and the game will also be televised on Sportsnet.
