Moose Win Big Against The Wildcats

Photo - Myles Dennis
Your Halifax Mooseheads set a new franchise record for goals scored at home tonight with a huge offensive performance against the Moncton Wildcats. The game started with all the momentum going in the Mooseheads way when they opened the scoring a minute and twenty-six seconds into the game, but then after that, they sat back and let the Wildcats back into the game with the Wildcats scoring three goals in the span of four minutes. As things started to calm a bit and the Mooseheads went on the power play they made the most of the opportunity scoring less than a minute in. After the power play goal by McIssac, the floodgates opened your Mooseheads, they then scored nine unanswered goals to take a 10-3 lead early in the third. In the third Moncton got two back with goals from Fox and Phelan. While tempers started to boil there was a hit on Fortier that the Mooseheads players did not like and it saw Connor Moynihan as well as Max Fortier finding a partner and both fighting and subsequently being done for the night. With just under three minutes to go Benoit-Olivier Groulx scored for the moose and with that goal, it set a new record of 12 goals being scored in a game by the home team. Tempers were high in the last seconds of the game seeing Alex Gravel getting run which drew a crowd to stand up for their goalie.
