Halifax got off to a fast start scoring a powerplay goal just four and a half minutes into the team's first home pre-season game at the Forum. It was a different beginning than the Mooseheads two previous match ups where they were down quickly in both games and were never able to catch up. Today it was the Islanders who couldn't catch up. The Herd went on to the pick up the victory, scoring 6 times to Charlottetown's one. Sophomore Otto Somppi had a good game recording 3 assists and 4 points. Kevin Resop picked up the victory while the Isles starting goalie, Matt Welsh, was chased and Blade Mann-Dixon stopped all 11 shots he faced.
