Four players with ties to your Halifax Mooseheads were named to the NHL Central Scouting's 2016-17 Futures List today.
Current Herd players Jocktan Chainey and Arnaud Durandeau as well as prospects Jack Rathbone and Nico Hischier all made the list. The futures list is made of players that are eligible for the 2017 NHL entry draft.
Nico Hischier is the biggest Mooseheads player on the list and is touted to go in the first round of next year's draft. Future Considerations ranked the 17 year old as the 20th best player for next year's draft. The Naters, Swiss native is set to arrive in Halifax on August 21 and is very likely to make the Moose out of training camp. Hischier had 11 goals and 28 points in 18 games for the Bern U20 team during the 2015-16 season.
Nolan Patrick of the Brandon Wheat Kings is projected to go first overall at the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago, IL.
The National Hockey League will release another list in September grading their players to watch for the season so look back to see how the scouts continue to evaluate our 4 Moose boys.
