The Herd look to keep the momentum rolling after the win over the Wildcats last night. In that win that was one of the best games that we have seen them play all season. With five different guys scoring last night they are going to look for that kind of offence tonight when they take on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at the Scotiabank Centre. They are going to look to Eric Brassard for another solid performance as he has given them this year so far. A Team Effort In Moose Win Over Wildcats

Halifax kept the momentum going that they had coming into this game as they came out on top against their division rivals; the Moncton Wildcats. The Herd had some secondary scoring with each of the five goals being scored by different players. The Mooseheads had an early goal called off for it being put in the net with a hand pass but after that Max Fortier drew a penalty and scored on the power play to lead the game 1-0. Arnaud Durandeau added another goal for Halifax before the first period was over. In the second Andrew Shewfelt scored a nice goal from a beauty of a pass from Vince Watt, then before the end of the period Danny Moynihan added a goal on the power play to take a 4-0 lead. In the third Otto Somppi scored his first goal of the season on home ice which came on a 5 on 3 power play for the Herd. Eric Brassard lost his shut out bid with 9:52 left in the game when Moncton scored their first of the night and would score one more before the end of the period. It was a very physical game for the rivalry week match up. Eric Brassard made some big saves to keep his team in the game.

Your Halifax Mooseheads will look to continue the momentum that they gained the other day with a gutsy road win against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles when they take on the Moncton Wildcats tonight. After a 7-1 loss in Moncton on Sunday the Herd will look to stop the red hot Wildcats player Conor Garland, who has 22 points in 9 games. The Herd will look to their captain to help with the offence which has been hot and cold so far. Halifax will try to tame the Cats for the first time this season and show that even though they are young, they can give the top teams a hard time. This is the first of a two game home stand for the Mooseheads this week.

Moynihan's Hat Trick Gives Moose PITR Victory

Your Halifax Mooseheads have their first mini winning streak of the season. The Herd's offence exploded tonight for 7 goals with the help of the first line on Pink in the Rink night. Danny Moynihan got the game started quickly with a goal less than 2 minutes into the game before Bathurst tied it 8 minutes later. Halifax wore special pink jerseys to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation which gives grants to find a cure for breast cancer, tickets were raffled off for fans to win a jersey. After the first period the game was tied but the other Moynihan; Connor gave the Mooseheads a 3-2 lead in the second and the team never looked back onto their 4th straight PITR victory and second in a row on the season. Danny scored two more times while captain Timo Meier had four assists on the night. The Titan didn't make it easy on the Herd to get the win though, with a clear off-side play being called a goal in Bathurst's favour as well as plenty of rough stuff.

Fortier named to Team QMJHL's roster

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced it's roster today for the Canada-Russia Series that will be held next month in Rouyn-Noranda and Halifax. Mooseheads forward Maxime Fortier was listed on the roster. 

The Canada-Russia Series is a series of six games played across Canada with players trying to showcase they deserve to be on the world junior teams for each country. This season, the city of Halifax will host the last game of the series, which will be played on November 19. Other cities include; Kelowna and Kamloops, British Columbia as well as Owen Sound and Windsor, Ontario. Head coach Dominique Ducharme will be the top bench boss for Team QMJHL and will be joined by Martin Raymond, Darren Rumble and Gilles Bouchard.

Tickets for the game in Moose Country are on sale now for the general public. Adult/Senior tickets are $22 each while Student/Youth are $12 each and can be purchased at TicketAtlantic.com, the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstores or by calling 1-877-451-1221.

What A Comeback

Down two goals twice during the game, your Halifax Mooseheads used the return of Timo Meier to get their second win of the season. The Mooseheads couldn't make their passes and gave the puck up quite a bit in the first period and at the end of the 20 minutes found themselves down 0-2. Meier, who turned 19 today, took the first penalty of the game and Halifax suffered because of it as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada took a 1-0 lead. Sanche scored again 4 minutes later to give the Armada a strangle hold on the game. Or so it looked like, a delay of game penalty at the beginning of the second period and a 5 on 3 shifted the momentum to the Mooseheads big time. Cavan Fitzgerald scored on the 5 on 3 to close the gap, than Arnaud Durandeau had his second tally of the season on the powerplay to tie the game. Before the middle frame ended though, the momentum was back in Blainville's corner with the Armada securing a two goal lead again. The birthday boy got the ball rolling in the third scoring 56 seconds in to the frame before Danny Moynihan tied the game once again, this time at 4-4. In overtime, with a 4-on-3 powerplay situation, Halifax took full advantage and Meier had the magic play to win the game for the home team.

Timo Meier is set to make is home debut as captain of your Halifax Mooseheads. After getting injured in his first game after being returned by the San Jose Sharks, Meier is back in the lineup tonight when the Herd host the Armada. The two teams met in Boisbriand five days ago with the home team in that contest coming out with the win. Halifax will be looking for a bit of revenge after a 4-2 defeat on the weekend. The Mooseheads should get some added offence with Timo back in the lineup which will hopefully help with scoring and winning.

Ehlers to have new # this year

Nikolaj Ehlers has made the Winnipeg Jets!

A year after being sent back to your Halifax Mooseheads, the 19 year old has impressed the big team enough to start his first season as a pro. Ehlers was drafted in the 2014 NHL entry draft by the Jets and went to the team's development and rookie camps last summer before being reassigned to the Herd. During his sophomore year with Halifax, the Danish forward had another shortened season but still finished 3rd in league scoring. Nikolaj was back in Winnipeg this summer, attending the rookie camp again punching his ticket to main camp and a spot on the 2015-16 roster.

Halifax welcomes back Timo Meier who was participating in the San Jose Sharks training camp, upon his return he was made the captain of the team.
