Rookie Nikolaj Ehlers made his return to Moose Country well worth it. Ehlers helped his Quebec Major League team to a 5-3 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the annual Battle of Nova Scotia home and home series where special blue jerseys get raffled to help Special Olympics. Nikolaj scored the tying goal midway through the third period. The Mooseheads were down 3 to 1 going into the last 20 minutes of the game before MacKenzie Weegar started the come back just a few minutes into the last period. Ehlers added a shorthanded empty net goal to seal the deal for the home team. Rookie call up Cavan Fitzgerald scored his first career goal to give the team the lead.
