Story.
Team Canada has made two cuts to their World Junior team that is in Sweden for the 2014 World Juniors which will begin for real on Thursday. Hunter Shinkaruk and Damon Severson were told after today's pre-tournament game versus Finland that they would be going back home. Shinkaruk plays for Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League while Severson plays in Kelowna with the Rockets in the same league.
The Canadians defeated the Finns 4 to 2 after being behind 2-0 in the first 13 minutes. Zach Fucale made 28 saves for the win. Canada will play two more pre-tournament games. One more cut will be made before the tournament gets underway.
