Tight Battle

Game Three Recap
HAL leads series 2-1

Your Halifax Mooseheads have a 2-1 series lead after picking up a 2-1 victory in Game 3 of their third round match against the Drummondville Voltigeurs. It was a tight battle between the two clubs all night with the Moose holding the Volts to zero goals until the last three minutes of the game. There was also some hatred boiling to the surface, I guess when you play three straight games against each other and there is so much at stake, tempers tend to flare. Samuel Asselin got the scoring going 8:24 into the match, picking up a rebound and putting it past Anthony Morrone. Keith Getson scored minutes later which chased the Volts' goaltender after he allowed 2 goals on 8 shots. Halifax dominated the first half of the middle frame but for the whole second period, not much happened except for some nice chances by the Mooseheads. Drummondville pressured in the third, trying to get back into the game, outshooting the home team 16-4 in the final frame. Alexis Gravel stood tall the rest of the way until Maxime Comtois was able to squeak the puck past Gravel with 2:31 left. That''s as close as the away team would get. Once again, the Herd couldn't celebrate right away as there was some chattering going on between a few players on both teams. In a big boost, Benoit-Olivier Groulx was back in the lineup for Halifax after being off for a month with mononucleosis.
