Herd Cruise Past Huskies

For the 9th time this season, Moose Country heard 'All I do is win' blaring on the PA system at the Scotiabank Centre as your Halifax Mooseheads cruised past the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Friday evening.

Halifax started off really strong, something they seem to have been lacking the last few games, picking up a 2-0 lead after the first period. Captain Maxime Fortier scored a power play goal 5 and a half minutes into the frame and than recorded a helper on Benoit-Olivier Groulx's goal that made it 2-0. Starting goaltender Blade Mann-Dixon didn't have much to do in the first period (Halifax outshot Rouyn 11-6) but when he did face shots, the 20 year old came up big including a couple of times with Huskies players on top of him. In the second, Filip Zadina and Raphael Lavoie scored to give the home team a 4-0 lead before Rouyn-Noranda could really even get going. Defenceman Chris McQuaid picked up his first two goals of the season tonight, including one I am sure Mann-Dixon would like to have back that took away the shutout for Blade. The Huskies put on the pressure quite a few times in the final period, which saw the away team bring in rookie goalie William Lagrange for the rest of the game, but Rouyn could only get past the Blade Mann once during the frame.
