Moose Win Preseason Finale

For the first time in preseason play,  it saw your Halifax Mooseheads take on the Saint John Sea Dogs at the Scotiabank Centre tonight. You could tell that there is quite the rivalry already between the two teams, there were two fights in the span of two minutes. In the second fight, it saw veteran Connor Moynihan go to the room and have his night finished when he received an aggressor penalty. Nine minutes into the first period it saw Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Filip Zadina with a give and go play to get Halifax on the board. In the second period, Filip Zadina and Xavier Parent connected on a short-handed goal to see the home team with a two-goal lead which did not last long when Anthony Boucher scored on a short-handed breakaway, but before the end of the second Xavier Parent scored with one second left on the powerplay. In the third Saint John pushed back to one goal down before rookie Kyle Petten scored the game-winner, but it did not come without a scare when the Sea Dogs scored with 26 seconds left on the clock to come within one. Goalie Alex Gravel came up big for his team with some big saves on the Sea Dog forwards.
