Mooseheads Named to U18s

Well the Halifax Mooseheads might be out of the 2017 QMJHL playoffs but that doesn't mean the hockey season is over for all the players. Three young men who played the past year on the Herd's back end were told today that they were on the upcoming U18 Canadian and Swiss World Championship teams. Rookie goaltender Alexis Gravel plus defensemen Jared McIsaac and Jocktan Chainey have been called upon by Hockey Canada to represent their country at the 2017 under-18's in Slovakia. The tournament will be played April 13 to 23 in two different host cities. Scoring sensation Nico Hischier is on Team Switzerland's roster for the international championship.

The four players will meet each other in pre-tournament play on April 10th and during the preliminary round on Monday April 17. You can watch all Team Canada's matches on TSN. Click the following link for the full schedule and more info on the tournament; http://u18worlds2017.iihf.com/.

Congratulations to these young men who get to represent their countries and good luck to both teams. I'll try to keep you updated on how they're doing.
