QMJHL DRAFT: Even More Local Flavour

Here's a recap of today's QMJHL draft that was held in Sherbrooke, Quebec. A list of the players your Halifax Mooseheads drafted are below.

Your Herd chose 4 Nova Scotian players, hopefully a couple will make the roster this season, we need some more local guys on the team. Halifax also made a trade during the afternoon. The Moose traded the 31st and 62nd overall selections to Baie-Comeau for the 28th pick.

There was total of 16 kids drafted by your Mooseheads:

The Saint John Sea Dogs once again had the first overall pick this year after winning the coin flip last month. After 15 year old Joseph Veleno received word that he got exceptional status, no surprise the Dogs picked him in the #1 spot. Cape Breton selected the first Nova Scotia born player 4th overall in Shane Bowers.

Congratulations to the new Mooseheads players and to all the young boys who were drafted today by the 18 teams.
