Brendon Reid, former Halifax Mooseheads player from 1997-2000, has retired from playing hockey. This afternoon he posted a picture on Instagram of a fun time that he had while playing. Reid was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2000 NHL draft and split four years between the Canucks and thier AHL affiliate Manitoba Moose. He then went over to Europe to play in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga and the National League A in Denmark and switzerland respectively. Most recently he played for CSKA Moscow of the KHL.
The 33 year old had 215 points in three seasons with the Mooseheads. He will continue to be part of the hockey community despite retiring as a player. Brandon has accepted a position as the Director of Player Development and head coaching the Vojens ice hockey team in Denmark.
