The preliminary round at the 2014 IIHF World Championships is complete and now the real games begin. Former Halifax Mooseheads forward Nathan MacKinnon and Team Canada lost only one game during the first part of the championship, a 3-2 overtime loss to France in their first game of the tournament, and have been excellent ever since. With their overtime win on Sunday and another win on Tuesday against Norway, Team Canada has won Group A and a berth in the quarterfinals. They will play Finland Thursday afternoon at 2pm/AT. Nathan has 4 points going into the playoff round. Canada has not won a quarterfinal matchup in 4 years (2010-2013).
Good luck to Nathan and the rest of Team Canada against Finland tomorrow.
