Another Alum signing

Andrew Bodnarchuk has agreed to a 2-year deal with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. He spent last season with LA's affiliate in the American Hockey League, the Manchester Monarchs. There he collected 20 points in 69 games. He was drafted in 2006 by the Boston Bruins after playing a year with the Halifax Mooseheads. Andrew spent two more years after being drafted with the Mooseheads collecting 123 points.

  • Goaltender Mason McDonald was the only Nova Scotian to be named to the U18 Ivan Hlinka tournament. He along with 6 other QMJHL players were named to the team which will play in Barclav, Czech Republic starting August 5 and ending August 10. Press release.
  • Seth Jones of the Portland Winterhawks took over the EA Sports NHL twitter account this afternoon.
  • Mooseheads hockey school starts in a week and will last all week for kids born between 2001 and 2008.
