After a struggle bus of a game against the second last place team in Saint John on Thursday, our Halifax Mooseheads offence was firing on all cylinders Saturday evening. Mathis Rousseau picked up a 13 save shutout as Halifax defeated the Charlottetown Islanders 7-0, allowing the home team to clinch a playoff spot. Dylan MacKinnon got the ball going with his second goal of the season at the 5:24 mark of the opening period. Before you knew it, the Herd had created a 3-0 lead less than 12 minutes into the game and the Islanders decided to change goaltenders after Aksels Ozols gave up three goals on 7 shots. The power play was having a good time as well, with Mathieu Cataford, Jake Furlong and Jan Sprynar scoring on the man advantage. Charlottetown was frustrated for most of the game so the almost 10,000 fans that were in attendance were close to seeing a fight about three times.
