Just think, a little over a month ago the Mooseheads couldn't string two wins together. In the past month they've had 2 two game win streaks and are on a four game victory streak right now. Halifax will be looking to continue their strong play this evening when they visit the Foreurs in Val-d'Or. The Herd will be playing a team that is 3 points behind them this time but Zach Fucale will have to be excellent today if Halifax hopes to win. Val-d'Or is third in team scoring with 107 goals for, behind Rimouski and Moncton but they have the most goals against in the league. Can Halifax finish off the month of November strong with another victory? We will have to wait and see.

This is the second and last meeting between the Moose and Val-d'Or this season. The Foreurs won the last one on October 5 with a 4-3 shootout victory. Danny Moynihan had 2 goals to lead Halifax in the defeat while Zach Fucale made 33 saves to take the loss.

Overall Records
Mooseheads: 13-12-2-1 = 29 points (4th in Maritimes division, 13th overall)

RECAP: Ehlers Leads Moose Comeback

ROUYN-NORANDA - Like normal, when the Halifax Mooseheads are down Nikolaj Ehlers scores at the right time to get them back in the game and sometimes leads the team to victory. Your Moosheads were down 2-0 to the hometown Rouyn-Noranda Huskies after 20 minutes but surmounted an amazing comeback on the back of Ehlers' 6 points night to win 8-5. The win give Halifax 4 straight victories and for the first time all year they are above .500 with a 13-12-2-1 record now.

It was a back and forth game in the second period. Danny Moynihan's goal at 17:31 of the middle frame tied the game at 3 but Antoine Waked scored less than 2 minutes later to give the Huskies a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes. Nikolaj Ehlers scored his second of the night 7 seconds into the last period to tie it at 4 and than both teams had a goal disallowed. Andrew Shewfelt gave the Mooseheads their first lead with 7:23 to go and Nikolaj Ehlers would help the team never look back.

Can we officially say they have connected as a team? I would say yes we can. The Mooseheads may not be as dominate as they have been the past two seasons but they still got some power. Halifax welcomed the league's best last weekend and chased their starting goaltender on their way to a 8-2 victory over the Rimouski Oceanic. That explosive game started the Herd's first three game win streak of the season. They'll be looking to continue their strong play against a team that is only 3 points ahead of them. Rouyn-Noranda is on top of a group of four teams that has 30 points.

This is the second and last match up between these two teams this season. The Huskies won the last meeting back at the beginning of October. Alexandre Fortin and Antoine Waked had a goal and an assist each to lead Rouyn-Noranda to a 5-0 win on the road.

Overall Records
Mooseheads: 12-12-2-1 = 27 points (4th in Maritimes division, 13th overall)
Huskies: 14-11-2-0 = 30 points (3rd in West division, 8th overall)

Rouyn-Noranda is coming off a 5-3 defeat on home ice against the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Wednesday night. Antoine Waked led the Huskies with a goal and an assist while Samuel Harvey made 12 saves on 13 shots after taking over for Alexandre Belanger.

Fucale Closing On Record

Not only was it a big night for import players Nikolaj Ehlers and Timo Meier in Halifax's 6-3 victory on Thursday night in Shawinigan but it was for 4th year goaltender Zachary Fucale as well. Fucale, who has helped lead the Mooseheads to a Memorial Cup championship and to two straight President's Cup finals appearances, is closing on to the record for most QMJHL career wins by a goaltender.

Zach is now in sole posession of second place on the list after recording his 124th victory last night against the Cataractes while making 32 saves in a 6-3 win. With it, he is now only 18 wins away from tying Jacques Cloutier for the record. Cloutier recorded 142 victories in 4 seasons with the Trois-Rivieres Draveurs between 1976 and 1980. Fucale and the Mooseheads have 41 more games this season so it is possible for him to acheive the record but some are saying that it won't happen. It is expected that Fucale will be a goaltender for Team Canada at the upcoming World Juniors so he will miss about 8 games because of that and of course a few here or there in the new year to let Kevin Resop get some more playing time.

Do you think Zach will reach the record this season? There's a slight possibilty of him returning for a fifth season next year but it's unlikely.

Congratulations on getting your 124th vitory Zach. Keep them coming!!
